not only is zhao zi the fandom’s smol precious dummy son, he’s also the smol precious dummy son in-universe. consider the scene where everyone’s helping him calm down at the police station. consider his coworkers about to take him out for thai food and the one guy instinctively tightening his arm around zhao zi’s shoulders when jack shows up. consider how completely unsurprised shaofei is when zhao zi is useless at taking care of him in the hospital. consider how shaofei knows that to get chief to agree to his request to protect tang yi, he just has to get zhao zi to back him up. this is all because everyone just wants to protect and take care of zhao zi and make sure he wants for nothing.

maybe this is part of why it’s taking zhao zi so long to see that the way jack treats him is special - he’s so used to everyone indulging him all the time, so a kidnapper letting him go or someone escorting him home unnecessarily and showing up to cook for him all the time seems completely natural to him.

Hello! Do you have any idea how the police department works in HIStory 3: Trap? I want to know the divisions and whatnot! I'm trying to research it but I cannot really understand! I would be really glad if you could tell me (if you know!). Thank you very much. :)

As far as I can tell Shao Fei and his team are part of the Criminal Investigation Division - within the CID the officers are divided into teams (Shao Fei and Zhao Zi are Team 3) - all the teams are, as far as I can tell, supervised by a Captain/Chief. The CID handles all investigations except serious crimes such as murder (there could be a Major Crimes Division which handles this stuff). 

Next to the CID, there is the International Crime Division or Interpol, they are present in Episode 2 with the Chief of the division Chief Yan and are present when a crime has an international connection like the murder of Wang Kun Cheng because he dealt with drugs coming in from Cambodia. 

In reality, there is the Taipei City Police Department and you can find their structure here. If your research is for a fanfiction I would say this is a good source to start, because they list all their divisions and it wouldn’t really make sense if the Trapped Universe would operate totally different I guess.

one thing i love about shaofei is that, while he is willing to put himself out there and go after what he wants (once he figures out what it is), he also accepts that neither his feelings nor his declaration of them mean that tang yi has to reciprocate. he kisses tang yi, makes his feelings clear, and then backs off and lets tang yi decide what he wants to do next. he takes tang yi’s return kiss as a sign that tang yi wants the same thing he wants, and when tang yi says he’s not sure of his affection, at first shaofei’s upset because he thinks that tang yi was taking advantage of him - not wanting to actually be with him, but kissing him in the hospital in front of his friends/coworkers anyway even though he knows how shaofei feels about him - but once shaofei realizes that that’s not the situation, he immediately loses any trace of entitlement or pushiness. “my feelings are my problem, and you’re not obligated to feel this way too just because i do, and so i’m just going to have to put in some effort and hope that being funny and sweet and handsome and alluring does it for you someday” is a pretty healthy way for him to react to what tang yi’s offering.

trapped appreciation day 3: favorite “tang yi!”

i think my favorite time that shaofei yells tang yi’s name is in episode 11 after he kisses tang yi for the first time and then yells either, depending on the subs you’re looking at, “i’ll chase you no matter what, tang yi!” (adam uni) or “i’m definitely pursuing you, tang yi!” (viki) or “i’m chasing you for life, tang yi!” (@stebeee) or “i’m going after you (to be mine), tang yi!” (episode 11/12 teaser on youtube). anyway you get the picture. he’s very enthusiastic!

i was surprised that this ended up being my favorite, because it’s so open and vulnerable and exuberant and over the top in a way that makes me uncomfortable because of secondhand embarrassment, BUT. that’s my boy shaofei for you. and i just LOVE how happy he is. he turns to the railing and LITERALLY yells from the rooftop with happiness! he’s SO happy and SO in love and you can just feel the oh-my-god-i-did-it-i-made-a-move first-kiss adrenaline rushing through his body!! i had to put my head down and just take a minute to deal with the emotions this scene was giving me that i am not equipped to handle!

plus tang yi is just standing there rebooting which is such a Mood and honestly after watching this scene i don’t know how i survived the one-day wait for the next episode to come out. this was a huge turning point in their relationship and i love that shaofei made it happen just by being his impulsive, open, adorable, sappy self.

okay wait. so shaofei has been stalking tang yi for four years and he’s never noticed that tang yi is into dudes? yu qi (yu qi of all people! the one who can’t even tell that shaofei is not into her at all! so like, not exactly Observant Person of the Year) is the one who sees tang yi dancing with andy and is like (i’m paraphrasing) “i guess the rumors are true,” and then shaofei’s like “what rumors?” what rumors, shaofei? like. i refuse to believe tang yi hasn’t flirted with any guys in the last four years, shaofei must just be totally oblivious to it. i swear, jun wei is the only person on that entire team who can read a room.

Omg now Trevor comes around with the tough questions :D I have no idea! I mean you could calculate the angle of entry and the possible exit angle and where Ah Zhi had been at the time but it’s definitely not me who can do that :D
