Oooohh, how about the Tower of London as a location for your Cats OC meme? :D
Oh ho ho ho.... this been awhile since I wrote one of these.
His name is Traven. He is a Siberian cat with dark black fur with patches of white along his tail and marked across his face like claw marks. He had pale green eyes and carries himself with severity and authority.
He was born to a large litter of 6 kittens and only a few weeks after his birth was sold, along with the rest of his siblings, to different families throughout London. Traven found himself in the home of a small family. A recently married couple and their 1 year old child. Traven accepted his existence as a house cat, comfortable with spending his days eating 3 meals a day, being groomed by soft human hands, and bathing in the sunlight on the window sill. However, this life would not stay so calm for very long.
Now the father of the small human child was a police officer. From what Traven had heard he worked at the Tower of London as a guard/tour guide. One day he came home with a black and white checkered collar with a police animal tag on it. As it was placed around Traven’s neck, he quickly realized that his plans to play with the human child tomorrow would have to wait. Sure enough, the next day Traven was brought with his owner to the large historic fortress and set loose to hunt and kill rats at his pleasure. Traven was perfectly fine with this new employment, working diligently and efficiently. He guarded the contents of the fortress with his life, and very soon his presence and diligence came to a certain cats attention.
Traven was on a late night patrol when he first met the Napoleon of Crime. At first Traven hissed at the wild orange cat and held his ground, but something about the cats demeanor, something about his eyes made Traven hesitate to immediately lunge at the intruder. Macavity told the cat that he was a peacekeeper in the lower parts of London who was fighting against a wild and unkempt tribe of junkyard cats. He had come to see if her could use a small corner of this large secure fortress to hold a recently captured Jellicle to prevent them from hurting themselves or others. Traven gut told him to say no, but those eyes... Traven agreed and pointed Macavity to a small hidden nook beneath the stone floorboards that could easily be used to contain a handful of cats. Macavity smiled and nodded approvingly at his new prison before thanking the cat and disappearing in a puff of smoke.
3 days later a group of Macavity’s henchcats arrived dragging a panting Tom along with them. He was relatively young, a mixture of orange black and white fur. He spit and hissed at his captors but visibly shrunk when brought muzzle to muzzle with Traven. The cats dragged the small Tom inside the fortress before throwing him into the small cell and sealing it shut with a cement brick. The cats gave Traven a strange look before they matched up to patrol the outside area. Traven paused at those looks, did they feel sorry for him? But why?
Traven was about to turn and stalk off when he felt a paw tap his shoulder. He turned to see the young Tom staring at him befor he quietly spoke “I know you...”.
The Tom wasn’t in the best condition at the moment. He had several bruises and scrapes on his body and was staring at Traven with one black eye as he spoke up in a cockney accent, “I’ve seen you in the brick ‘ouse on the corner. What the ell are you doing messing round with Macavity mate?!? He’s a monstah!”.
For a moment Traven felt a twinge of remorse break through him and he suddenly found himself moving to release the Tom when a spark of pain went through his skull. Mungojerre watched in horror as the Tom’s eyes suddenly changed to a familiar bright yellow as he stared down at Mungojerre with a look of disgust.
“And what makes you think you don’t deserve to be here? After all you’ve stolen and all the humans and cats you’ve hurt? What makes you think you deserve anything less than a cell?”.
Mungojerre shrunk back his eyes facing down as he listened to the cats words. Traven gave the Tom one last look before he felt his body match off to begin his nightly rounds. After all, what’s a Warden without a prisoner...
A week after the events above, @dorsey-doran-thewanderingcat went to the tower to attempt to rescue Mungojerre. He encountered Traven, and requested assistance from him in freeing the other Tom. Traven agreed, despite knowing he could potentially lose his free will in doing so, and managed to get Mungojerre out of the cell before Macavity once again took control of his mind.
A brief fight occurred between Dorsey and the mind controlled Traven, before Traven finally managed to free himself from Macavitys influence. Dorsey with a new scar on his back helped a weakened and dazed Traven back to his human home before leaving to the junkyard to get help.
Dorsey eventually returned with @jubileethelibrarycat to help bring Traven back to the junkyard so the magical felines could help him. On the way they encountered Macavity who revealed, after a bloody fight, that he had placed a curse on Traven that was slowly killing him. The pair were barely able to get Traven back to the yard in time to have Mistoffelees lift the curse, saving Traven’s life.
It took 2 days for Traven to awaken, and when he did he and Dorsey acknowledged their fondness and devotion to each other (after some pushing from Jubilee and Mungojerre) and the pair happily fell asleep cuddled together, safe and secure.
