LET ME JUST EXPLAIN. HOW I FEEL ABOUT THINGS. SPECIFICALLY TRASH DONUTS THINGS.
my main concern is the way the show treats luisa, and that was done well in this episode. it's frustrating that i now have such low expectations of this show re: her that i'm so happy just about the fact that she wasn't treated as a joke, but. i am. the scene with the phone call from the hospital at the beginning was the trickiest but yara played it seriously, so i think it worked? ymmv on this one though, i think! (lmao. ymmv. welcome to idk. 2008.)
the flashbacks were great. they were sweet, they were taken seriously and they didn't complicate anything further. we knew (OFC) she was luisa's stepmother and, considering that, this was the cleanest way it could have gone. it was supposed to be a one-time thing, then later they found out things were weirder than that. ofc a lot can still happen if they do other flashbacks but. yk. for now i'm good.
i loved seeing luisa angry about the word "crazy" again, though, again, the show has fucked up so much re: this that i feel like i shouldn't even be giving them brownie points. i just. i kept fearing they would fuck it up badly and turn luisa into a joke again (their "resident train-wreck", as their official twitter puts it) and they never did.
now, as for upcoming stuff. i hope (probably in vain) that she hasn't run off with rose, because. i don't want them together any more at all. like, this worked as a tragic~ backstory in a "they could have been good, they had a real attraction" way, but. rose is still rose, and she still locked luisa up in a mental institution, and she still killed her father. SO I'M LIKE. LU. baby. don't. come to me. i'll be your gf. i'll treat you right.
