ok ive finally been able to gather myself and i know the one thing that got me abt last night’s ep
it was so real, and more than that, it was so true to who they are
the first episode, i was blown away by how in character they all were after so many years away from these chars. i mean, sara scofield going for mundane household items to literally stab a woman in the head?? lincoln going to the ends of the world for his brother, with 0 thought?? sucre showing up to help, c-note going along, t-bag, everyone was so.. in character.
but last night’s episode was the one where i was like. damn. this is them. don’t get me wrong - they have all clearly changed. but they’re still the characters they were, in the og series. look at michael, who absolutely KILLED me. that poor man, who only ever did everything he could to keep the people he loved safe - he was so prepared to live a happy, normal life with sara and his baby, but he didnt even THINK when it came to saving her, and more than that, saving everyone. i was so hoping they wouldn’t do this kind of plot, and it wouldn’t be the explanation for the final break.. but it makes so much sense, i can’t even be mad. michael scofield has only ever done these terrible things for the people he loves, and it has worn him down, finally, but he is still him. he’s still ‘the man with the plan’ and i just.. got hit rly hard by that
the acting was beyond amazing last night, between wentworth bringing a vulnerability to michael which we have NEVER seen before (unless u count rare glimpses in the og series.. like in j-cat, and a few other eps.. this was a proper meltdown, though), and dominic bringing a tenderness to lincoln which was so unusual but so.. him. they blew me away and they broke me down and i dont thinkill honestly recover from that episode for a long time
btw ill post abt this a few times but im going to take requests for prison break gifsets for a while so if you have one.. hit me up :)
