It must have been a shot he hadn't seen, or maybe a flare from the sun, or something else entirely, that caused Silverbolt to have a change in trajectory, clipping a wing on the side of a rocky outcrop, and making almost a nosedive into the arid terrain.
He had just managed to transform before he hit the ground, at least saving his nosecone and (hopefully) his windows from shattering.
But that didn't make the impact any less painful or debilitating.
To make matters worse, his communication console was giving only static, perhaps his antenna had snapped, which was certainly not a good thing, unable to call for help.
It was lucky he had learned Morse code from the films he watched with his brothers, and using a shard of his own glass, he managed to outstretch his arm, wincing in pain, to begin rotating the glass, sending out the code for SOS, only hoping that the right individual saw it.
He had no idea of the extent of his injuries, only knowing that he hurt all over and moving didn't seem to help.
