To say Starscream had been on a losing streak recently was an understatement. He had barely escaped both the decepticons and the autobots with his life, his t-cog was damaged and his clones had utterly failed to take his revenge on Megatron for him.

When he first spots the two flyers in the air he expects them to be vehicons, so he dives for cover. Peeking out from his hiding place, he sees as they circle back that they have different colourations than Megatron's usual goons.

From this distance, it's impossible to tell precisely who they are, but they're seekers for certain. They're probably bad news, yet his spark can't help but swell with hope. What if it's them?

No, no that was fanciful thinking. They were both offlined long ago, back when he was still proud to be the Decepticon air commander. Now he's grounded and alone, this was just another cruel trick the universe wanted to play on him.

He ducks back underneath the bushes he's using for cover as they approach, hearing the sound of transformations as these flyers land. Hopefully they're here for some other objective, and it's purely a coincidence he is nearby.

the two seekers transformed dropping on the ground "I'm telling ya thundercracker.... i..i saw his spark signiture!" one hisses like an annoyed child before the other sensibly replied "possibly skywarp ....but.. we cant rule out the possibility that old star might be scrapped ....who knows.....maybie ol jetfire was right.... this whole war is usless.." the other seeker sighed their paint schemes were darker ......

At those names, he breaks cover. Standing suddenly upright almost in shock. It was them, it really was, but...how?

He brushes the branches which had stuck to him off his form hurriedly and gives a little cough to alert them to his presence.

"Who are you calling old, Thundercracker? From what I recall, we were sparked on the same stellar-cycle."

both seekers fell off the rock "sweet frag!" skywarp telloported and hugged starscream tightly happy for him being alive ..

thundercracker chuckled softly "missed you to ya jethead" he snickers "sooo....what have ya got your aft into this time?"

"It is good to see you both, I will admit I had assumed the worst."

Starscream makes a show of batting him away, pretending he doesn't actually want to be hugged. He may not be their commander anymore but he still has standards.

"Ohhhh you know me, the usual. Tried to overthrow Megatron and failed spectacularly."

skywarp backed off "soooo howw about we go for a flight or are ya too high n mighty" he teased

thundercracker rolled his optics "your a child warp such a fraking child" ..the blue seeker smiled softly

"A flight? Do you think I'm looking to get myself offlined?!"

He responds incredulously. Starscream couldn't admit he'd lost his flight capability, how would they respect him after that? No, lying was definitely the better choice.

"I'm laying low, literally."

Shockwave muses aloud, eyeing them inquisitively.

"Although you are a little diminutive compared to most of my experiments."

"Diminuitive??" Dragonsbane's plating bristled, though she made no move to leave her defensive crouch. She wasn't scared, of course; sure, she would have barely come up to this mech's knees, had she been transformed, but that didn't mean anything!

"Come down here and say that to my face!"

"I meant no offence. I had anticipated Predaking to be larger than his brethren, but considering he was at least twice my own height..."

He starts to mutter off some calculations, then comes to a decision.

"No, your scale suggests a more contemporary build than our ancenstors. Unlike any I have encountered, sparked or otherwise. I am Shockwave, I take it you have a name also?"

"I do." The dimorphodon still didn't let up on her defensive posture, but she did adjust it somewhat. The mech may not have been outright hostile yet, but she still wanted to be ready to bolt, if she had to.

"....it's Dragonsbane." The femme elaborated after a moment. "I didn't like the designation I was given, so I picked it myself."

Shockwave usually didn't engage in combat unless he found a reason to. He was a scientist, not a brawler. He'd rather leave the fighting to bots who relished such activities like his leader Megatron or the sycophantic air commander Starscream.

"Dragonsbane? An interesting choice of designation. Chosen because of your alt-mode, perhaps?"

Shockwave has a tendency to think to himself aloud even around people. Numerous cycles alone on Cybertron led to his already limited social skills becoming practically non-existent. Not that he cared for them much at all in the first place.

Steve rushes into the room, it's visor scanning the area for the medic. As soon as it sees she's in, it rushes over to her.

"We have to leave. Now. Autobots have boarded the ship, essential non-combat officers are to be evacuated via the ground bridge."

The urgency in its voice isn't entirely out of duty, it cared about her. Trauma has always been kind, and Steve couldn't bear it if she was injured or worse.

"fine fine..!" trauma scooped up her kit nodding at him as her servo changed into a saw

It grabs her other servo (just to keep her close by, it's a safety precaution, no other reason) and takes her out into the corridor.

The sounds of fighting are alarmingly close by, and unfortunately in the direction they should be heading.

"This way, we'll go around."

the fembot nodded softly "lead the way Steve " she whispered squeezing his servo

It corrects itself, knowing she'd told it previously the formality wasn't necessary.

Steve signals for her to wait as they approach a blind corner. Peering round it ducks back quickly as a photon blast buzzes past where its head would have been.

"Scrap. We're pinned."

"we could try to negotiate?" trauma suggests

"In my experience, autobots usually shoot first and ask questions later. Especially the wreckers."

He hasn't had much luck in his encounters with them.

"I know, the ventilation system! We should be able to make our way past unnoticed that way. Here, I'll give you a boost."

He asks nervously, not looking forward delivering the news to Megatron that he'd be out of action for any amount of time.

"Perhaps if l just engage at long range?"

Starscream isn't stupid enough to permanently risk his flight capabilities and go against the doctors orders, but if there's any way he can have his cake and eat it he'd rather that.

"Starscream, you're the air commander, sir. You do not have to lead from the front. I'll speak to Megatron about temporary redeployment. Support only. Long range using the ships weaponry seems viable, however overseer command might be more to your strengths." Trojan pondered, leading Starscream out of the medbay.

"I can handle Megatron myself."

Starscream replies with a sigh, he seems to spend most of his time grovelling at their leaders feet these days rather than having his suggestions taken into account. It's all politics, even if it is rather humiliating.

"But thank you for your assistance."

"I always do my best to stay up to speed."

Knockout replies, more than happy to keep up the back and forth banter (especially when it came with compliments for him).

He whistles at Starscream's new 'paintjob', and Breakdown elbows him as though that's going to make him behave.

"Silverwings. Got it."

The bulky bot replies with a nod. Knockout meanwhile is already planning his next nickname for the Seeker. He will think that over as they walk.

Their usual drinking place is the only place they know to take Starscream. It isn't exactly classy, but it's a place where questions aren't asked, ID isn't required and the high grade is cheap enough.

Breakdown will get the first round, he never has a problem getting service unlike his smaller companions who could be overlooked by the crowd.

"The night is young, let's get it started before we grow old!"

Knockout cheers, clinking his glass against the others and downing as much as he can manage in one.

Starscream first impression of the place isn't a good one. Not that he had high expectations considering where he was, but this place is horrid. But he follows the pair, sitting down and accepting the glas his given.

"My, isn't this a... cosy place. Do the two of you come here, often?" He tries to be smooth about it, it isn't good to insult his guides this early into the night. He clinks his glas with a smile, drinking is god. No mater where it is done.

"Agreed, let's not waste any more time or the sun will rise before we're even had time to get bussed"

"Its a scrapheap, but there are worse dives. Figured it was the last place anyone'd look for you though."

Bulkhead replied honestly, he's more of a straightforward mech than anything else although Starscreams distaste doesn't go over his head.

Knockout is already nudging a second drink towards the Prince, he's looking forward to an interesting night out.

"Plus we can always sneak into somewhere with more of a lively atmosphere later without having to pay double what the high grade they serve is worth. Welcome to pre-drinking Silver!"

True to his word Starscream doesn't flinch, although he can't entirely avoid the noises of discomfort he makes. The whimper he gives out as the plates of his wings are repositioned isn't dignified but he hardly cares about that right now.

"A skirmish with the autobots, I...may have ended up underwater at one point. Is that at all relevant?"

They're relieved to hear its nothing major, although the idea of taking it easy makes him chuckle bitterly.

"I'll do my best to let our enemy know to approach me from the right at all times."

"Oh did I need to specifically mention no combat missions? Because if this weld breaks, you're looking at an entire replacement at best, and I'm not even going in to the worst possible outcome." Trojan snapped, cleaning off their servos in a nearby wash.

D.R.O.N.E.s bay doors snapped open, allowing both to exit if they wished. "Thirty-Eight cycles. That's how long it will take to print out a new bolt with the tensile strength to survive your flight patterns, sir."

"Oh save me the lecture, I'm not some rookie here to prove how tough they are. You said it yourself you're not Vosnian trained, I can't see my wings so the only way I can tell what you're doing back there is by feeling it."

He flips over, complying despite his offended attitude. The sooner this was done with the better.

He was right on that one. "Alright, I had to try." Trojan sighed, watching as Drones tools slowly descended from the ceiling, trying to stay out of Starscreams sight. Mechs might start asking the wrong questions when they see D.R.O.N.E doing the more complex procedures, rather than Trojan.

It's complicated.

The pain comes sharp and fast, despite their best efforts at being gentle. Heated plates soften the wing blades metal, correcting the curves slight deviation before diving in to the wings gears. "Oh. That explains a lot. Were you in any.... arctic conditions lately? You look to have a busted bolt that could have been causing the whole thing." They noted the water and freeze damage that sacrificed the bolts integrity.

"You're lucky. This is an easy replacement." They would feel a tiny heat near the bolt. "I'm spot welding it to hold everything in place while a new one is printed out. You can fly in the meantime but nothing insane, alright?" Before they even finished, they closed Starscream up, pulled the tendrils back, and offered a servo up.

"No heavy lefts for the next thirty eight cycles, then come back and we'll quickly switch that out."

"I'll stay awake, if it's all the same to you Doctor."

A Seeker's wings mean everything to them, the idea of being parted from one even temporarily is enough to send a shudder through him. Megatron has threatened to have them removed in fits of rage, although the second in command had proven too useful with them to ever warrant him following through.

That may play a part in why he wasn't particularly keen on any decepticon handling his wings, he never knew who may be ordered to dispatch with them as some cruel punishment for his failings.

"I don't need the pain patch either, I've had repairs on them without before. I can stay still."

Trojan offlined their optics. It always baffled them how many 'Cons refused the pain patch. "Sir, you have nothing to prove with me. All things between patient and doctor are strictly confidential." They felt the need to try and convince him to knock off the act. Suffering for no reason was pointless in their processor. "I advise you take the pain patch. Regardless, I need you to flip over so D.R.O.N.E can have access."

He flips over, complying despite his offended attitude. The sooner this was done with the better.

"Just a hunch."

Starscream replied almost good naturedly, he liked this sort of back and forth banter. Back when he flew with the elite trine the bickering was incessant, a fact he had grumbled about at the time but truly missed now the skies were silent.

He'd expected the medic to put up more of a fight, in fact how quickly he rolled over gave him more cause for concern. They were used to Knock Out practically bullying them into necessary medical procedures, it had taken orns for the racer to quit asking about their wings.

The threat of medical leave confirms is suspicions. So this is blackmail, either let the medic here look at his wings or be shipped off to god knows where. Megatron would replace him in a sparkbeat, leaving now would just open his position for another.

Soundwave likely was listening, and given how keen the officer was on him that only really leaves him with one choice. He gives out a frustrated growl, and practically hisses his next words to the doctor out of reluctance to say them.

"You can fix it. Then I don't have to go anywhere, and you can say you've done your 'due diligence'."

D.R.O.N.E.s paneling creaked and rattled. "Atmospheric pressure changes. Fast one, normally the automated systems compensate." Trojan answered for the unspoken question with practiced ease.

Their plan had backfired. Getting Starscream away from Megatron had been the goal. Just for a short time, for his repair systems to kick in and give him a break. On top of that, "I do need to inform you that I lack the correct certifications to make calibrations for Vosnians. However, I can at least straighten out your left wing. I understand you should know the drill by this point, but protocol states I must ask if you would like to be unconscious, remove the damaged wing for remote repair, or take the pain patch and stay awake without feeling anything for the procedure." While Trojan spoke, the ships paneling seemed to clench a little tighter.

Trojan always admired Vosnians for how well they cut through the air. As a quad-copter, they were very agile and able to fly in to what most would call 'difficult conditions' with ease. But the flips and turns they can pull.... beautiful. They also know of many horror stories regarding ill-prepared medics thinking they could switch out a broken washer on a Vosnian and ended up needing to replace the entire wing.

Starscream replies amused. It isn't like the medic has made his distaste for his colleague subtle.

His dimeneour entirely shifts when repairing his wings is mentioned. For a second he tenses, optics wide and then something snaps.

"No one touches my flight systems! That's an order."

Even if he has been veering off to the left, for kilo-cycles. If he weren't actively undertaking surgery right now, he would have left at just the mention of it.

"Just finish up the other damage."

"Oh? What ever made you think that?" Behind the thick glass covering their optics, Trojans optics gave away their mischievous smile.

Their servos flew up defensively. "As you command." Typical Decepticon behavior. But, it made sense. Trust is a more valuable currency within the ranks than even lives or energon. As a medic who prided themselves on....actually being good at their job... Trojan knew when to just let sleeping tanks rest.

"Affirmative. But I am still writing up orders for you to go and visit with a certified Vosnian mechanic." Their voice shifted, becoming more gentle. "I will handle telling Megatron that you will be away for a while. Better to spend the lunar cycle on medical leave, than have his second crash and burn."

In the back of their mind, they knew Soundwave was listening in. Nowhere was beyond him, not even within D.R.O.N.E.s walls.
