Travis List chats with The Music Garden
New traditionalist Travis List is heading back home to Australia for a handful of special shows at the 2015 Tamworth Country Music Festival. After moving to Nashville to focus on songwriting in 2008, Travis has been embraced for the Australian and international country music scenes alike. Now country music fans will have a chance to catch Travis’ concerts throughout the festival, where he will not only perform tracks from his incredible back catalogue, but also share some new material.
When it comes to the Tamworth Country Music Festival, Travis says he always has the festival highlighted in his calendar. “It is a highlight for me every year,” he says. “Australian audiences are like no other, they really know how to have a great time. It’s the one Australian festival you don’t want to miss. It is where everyone gets together for the music, where all your mates and fans are in one place. There are some of the best days of the year there.”
Bringing his latest album This Corner to the festival, Travis is looking forward to sharing his fourth release with country music fans. “It has been a long time since I have had a new recording out,” he says. “I’m looking forward to playing the songs with the band and seeing what the crowd think of them. It will be a high energy Honky Tonk country show, with great players and songs to get them in the Tamworth spirit.
