EPISODE II. THE RED BULLET IN SINGAPORE
13TH DECEMBER 2014, SATURDAY THE STAR THEATRE
I’m about three weeks late but I finally have something to say about The Red Bullet in Singapore.
I don’t really have much to say about it, just that I really had a lot of fun. I was seated at the second last row but yet I was singing to every song, waving my arms in the air, smacking and grabbing my friends who both were on my left and right.
I don’t need to go through bit by bit since there’s fancams out there and most of you know what went down. What I find impressive is the effort these boys put in. How do they do it, I don’t know.
Throughout the whole concert, boys spoke English. Even the conversations between themselves was in English. There wasn’t any translator at all! The only Korean spoken was the word ‘aegyo’. “Oh they know the Korean aegyo” - Namjoon. That was absolutely adorable. He even talked about Singapore being a clean country, which is predictable because that’s what most people say about Singapore. Also how the people here are nice. The way he said “you Singapore people..” I chuckled. Once again, absolutely adorable. But what made our jaw dropped was when he said something like even though Singapore is small, and territorial (I didn’t get him but yes, he said the word ‘territorial’) and that our GP (I'm pretty sure he meant GDP) is high. Ok everyone, tell me, who, any artists comes to a country to perform talks about that country’s GDP?! Me and friends have yet to get over this. This boy is really something. He must have did his research on his way here. I applaud him for this. As about food, well, Taehyung mentioned chilli crab. LOL. I just want to put it here that Singapore has a lot of other varieties of food like roti prata, nasi briyani, kway teow goreng, ban mian and much much more.
As for the set list. Gosh. The set list. The motherfucking set list. I didn’t look at the set list before the concert. I avoided photos and fancams right after TRB SG was announced. So everything was new to me. I love all of their songs. I can point out which songs has the most plays in my iPod/iTunes but if you asked me to pick one favourite, I can’t. When We On came on I freaked out and then they continued with Hip Hop Lover. What the fuck. Because seriously. We On was my jam when O!RUL82? was released and Hip Hop Lover is one of my favourite in Dark & Wild and it has the most plays in that album.
I was also surprised that they performed so4more - this is one of my favourite too. Right after that song end, I remember clearly they stood in two lines and got me wondering “ooh what’s next?” and Tomorrow came on. FUCK. I totally loose it there and then. And they freaking had a choreography for it. What the fuck. Everything about Tomorrow is brilliant. The song is brilliant. The choreography is brilliant. I still have yet to get over the fact that this song has a choreo.
To whoever came up with the idea of putting We On-Hip Hop Lover, so4more-Tomorrow back-to-back, kudos to you!
I was glad the vocal-line gets to shine with Outro: Propose but I wish that there’s more of just them. At least two songs of just the four of them since rap-line get to do Cypher.
When they did JUMP I thought finally I could see the whole choreo but as soon as I was about to shout “URIGA WASSEO WE ARE BTS!” song was cut off and straight went to Rise of Bangtan. Oh wellsh.
If I were to rate it, concert was 9/10. If the music wasn’t too loud I would give it a perfect ten. At some parts, I could hardly hear the boys’ mic. The whole thing was refreshing to me. Everything was kept simple and of course every song was live.
Do keep in mind that the K-pop concerts I’ve attended are SM concerts (SHINee World 1 & 2, The Lost Planet #1, Super Show 2, SNSD ’11 tour, SMTOWN SG) which were held at much bigger venue, has fancy stage, people flying here and there etc.
Jimin mentioned twice that they will be back. LOL. He was persistent. Well Jimin, I shall hold on to your words and will be looking forward to Episode 1. BTS Begins soon here in Singapore, which I’m guessing next year.
Also glad that I get to see Suga’s babies live!! Oh! Right after performing Let Me Know, with his right arm up straight and palm facing outwards, he said “I write this song!!” LOL ok Suga. I hear ya.
These boys will never stop surprising me and glad I get to see what the boys love and been wanting to do. That is performing their music to an audience. I am really proud of them.
Fun fact. Two K-pop concerts I went to this year: The Lost Planet #1 and this. Conclusion: The Red Bullet wins.
Wow. Such a long essay. I hope I don’t sound silly. If you read the whole thing, I thank you and here’s a pat on ya back. Good day everyone! As for me, I should head to bed. Good night.
ah i realised i was gonna edit fancams of the red bullet singapore but i never did cos of assignments last week and travelling to malaysia this week?
OMG you went to see the red bullet concert?! how was is? ahhhhh you're so lucky xxx
Hello and yes I went for the red bullet concert! The boys were amazing amazing amazing and I just totally sunk into this fandom even more after the concert lol.
I have some posts out too if you want to see, check out the #trbsg for all posts and #꿀지민 for photos and videos (still in the process of editing some ㅠ.ㅠ)
Oh I think I forgot to mention but BTS spoke English throughout the concert. Like we all know that Namjoon’s English is good but the other members spoke English to us during the ment as well!
Hmm and the only gripe I have is that I don’t understand how there were some people who seemed bored during the concert… like are they even fans?
Because it was a last minute decision for me and 2 friends to go for the concert, we bought the (almost) cheapest tickets which were not exactly cheap either… and we didn’t have time to get unofficial yellow lightsticks either.
But we still managed to enjoy ourselves by standing up (without blocking others lol we were really far back on the second floor) and just jamming to the music. Like it was so awkward to sit down on the chair without a lightstick.
And that’s the reason why I think that Singapore’s Indoor Stadium (where mosh pits can be constructed) would have been a better choice than The Star Theatre which was an all seating venue than reminded me more of a place we’d go to watch a musical or something. Well that’s the organisers’ choice anyway cos I don’t know if BTS’ popularity will fill up the stadium just yet but we’ll have to see when they come in the future :)
hi i posted fancam preview of the red bullet in singapore (jump - jimin focus)... not sure if it can be viewed cos my instagram is on private for personal reasons at the moment hmm... fancams will come when i got time for editing lol
