It had been another slow day at the bakery. Elli waved as the last customers left the building with their purchases. She left out a soft sigh as she looked around, but jumped when she saw someone staring inside the bakery through the window. 

She’d seen the expression on his face before. Only a couple week prior in fact. The longing as he stared at the food on display. Elli frowned as she watched. She knew she shouldn’t jump to conclusions, but the possibility of someone going hungry bothered her. Thus, she promptly walked out of the bakery and turned to the man outside. 

“Pardon me,” she said with a small, friendly smile, “But would you like to come in and try some samples?”

She hopped out of her little chair, with a paper fan in her hand. After all the official paperwork mumbo jumbo was all said and done, she handed him a popsicle and had him go on his way. (The packaging was deeeeeeeefinitely false advertising, but hey, even if it said it was an alpaca popsicle, whatever was inside was probably better.)
