Btw the second image is inspired by a passage in the odyssey that I am lowkey obsessed with given that I keep making art of it and mentioning everywhere.
This is the same eurymachus as the one in the song odysseus. The context is that penelope hears of the suitors plotting to kill telemachus from a herald (they do this multiple times in the odyssey) and confronts them. Eurymachus proceeds to gaslight her.
Also odysseus dandled eurymachus on his knees and fed him when he was a child just to kill him 20+ years later 🙃. That fact lives rent free in my head so your getting cursed with it to. Doomed... child and babysitter.
Also, this means odysseus must just adore kids given that eurymachus is the son of a nobleman so polybus is kinda just a colleague or a worker for him and odysseus is just being super affection with his kid so he's probably like this with everyone's kid, hence the art above.(oh about the alcohol, phoenix mentions doing the same with child achilles in the iliad so I guess it's normal)
