Here's a squirrel I saw this morning

they come lighter than snowflakes floating on the breath of june tiny globes of cotton fluff look close and see the pale small seed at center for a week or three we walk among these gossamer galaxies eddying on the merest breeze drifted in windrows of road and grass edge filling in the cracks of this neglected parking lot emissary of cottonwood bend down now to the maybe of sandy earth where asphalt gaps brimming floss and count each perfect spaceship of desire.
