Biggest Jerk: Round 1, Match 19
Peppermint Butler
Tree Witch
Presenting, The Tree Witch recreated as the princess of trees. I added pale pinks and purples to her palette because I saw some weeping willows had those colors. I think she looks pretty elegant.

Season 2 Episode 10 To Cut a Woman’s Hair - 36
On Black Locust
With Spring in overdrive, I'm still in a place where there is more to do in a day that I can actually manage. It's a good thing - I like being busy. I like doing.
My reclaimed garden is just entering its late Spring splendor. All of our hard work identifying the plants left behind and plantings new babies last year is starting to pay off. Gardening is a long-form art - you are always giving Future You a gift. All of my meadow sages are just starting to come into bloom and it fills my heart with pure joy.
Plus, our baby locust has finally matured enough to produce flowers (and provide us with a definitive identification - yeah!).
This plant alone is justification for smell-o-vision - I'm sitting in my office across my apartment from the garden and the sweet honey scent is still wafting through on the breeze.
Though I am not sure exactly how old it is, this Locust has been growing in the derelict garden for about as long as I have been living here. I was drawn to her immediately - much more to her than to the pair of American Elms with which she shares space. I have always found her energy to sweet and grounding and she has never once pricked me with her impressive thorns.
Then again, it is worth noting that I am definitely a Rose Witch. Yes, I want to roll in a bed of roses, and no, I don't want to de-thorn them first. The smell is worth the blood price every time.
I can relate to that, you can come near me but you may have to pay a blood price. When you approach the witch and all that.
I don't need to look up her supposed correspondences to understand that Locust provides sweet protection. She has loved me for every bit as long as I have loved her. Today though, as I smell her intoxicating scent I recognize her deeper magic - like a siren, she is drawing me back. Will you dare to face me thorns for this, she challenges. And I whisper...yes, yes, yes.
