So, in a similar way that Lightning has the “exalt cannon” that they use to send exalts to Stormcatcher on the Tempest Spire, Nature dragons use trebuchets (more like treebuchets) to fling hatchlings and dragons at the Behemoth for Lady Glade. They do not do this often, this method is mainly used to save time when dominance battles get intense and fast-paced.
Original convo that inspired this below the cut (edited a bit to save space)
Bells (Verdice): exalt cannon is ready to fire sir, might want to hit the deck lol. Hmm, I need to think of a way to make that sound Nature-y, exalt cannon is too Lightning haha
Rhea: Catkin catapult
Rhea: Catapults at the ready
Bells (Verdice): ahh, better, catapults sounds more “natural” like, made out of wood, and I like the idea of flinging exalts at Lady Glade who then catches em like a pro basketball player :D
lizziecat1279: the dragons that man the catapults have perfect aim so that the hatchlings can all land in glademomma's mane
Bells (Verdice): now i need a catapult operator dragon lol
lizziecat1279: and not get thrown against her bark-ey hide
Rhea: Nah, survival of the fittest
lizziecat1279: LOL, the fittest are the ones that reach glademomma because the others fall into the treeline of the behemoth and hit those trunks XD
Rhea: Sapling-sized catapults for hatchlings to use in the gladeveins, they just sploosh into water
Rhea: WAIT, IT'S NOT A CATAPULT
Riley92: ?
Jolene (CountofCasualty): it's a slingshot
Rhea: IT'S A
Bells (Verdice): oh dear
Rhea: TREEBUCHET
