I am completely obsessed with the Malachite stalactite slices we got. I think it must be the banding pattern that really catches my eye. The piece shown here is the front and back of the slice. It always gets me how they look like rings from a tree trunk. There is even a slight chatoyancy to it. Malachite is a Copper based mineral which is what gives it the nice density that it usually has.
