Sandbox guide
In our guide, we will show you what to look out for when buying a sandbox so that your children can have untroubled and safe playtime fun.
Reasons for a sandbox In addition to the fact that the children are in the fresh air while playing, a sandbox offers many more advantages: it sometimes promotes the physical and mental development of your offspring.
Read more positive features of sandboxes below:
The imagination and creativity of the little ones is stimulated. Through role play, they imitate people and actions and learn important social skills in the process. A sandbox invites you to play with other children. This allows the little ones to quickly socialize with their peers. Digging in the sand and handling sand toys promote your child's motor skills. A sandbox provides variety. For example, children like to play diggers, cook, build towers or imitate animals with appropriate sand molds. The sandpit remains interesting for a long time due to the numerous play options: it is one of the favorite places in the garden for children between one and eight years of age. Children rarely injure themselves in a sandbox, as the soft sand is ideal for cushioning any falls.
The different sandpits Since a sandbox is usually intended to be used for several years, when choosing a model you have to consider aspects such as the material used, the size and any extras such as covers.
First you should decide what dimensions the sandbox should have. This primarily depends on the space available in your garden - also note that a safety distance of around two meters should be maintained on all sides. You can sit particularly comfortably in a sandbox with a bench. As far as the shape of the sandbox is concerned, you can choose between square and rectangular designs. But our extensive range also includes unusual models, for example as boats or pirate ships, in the shape of butterflies or sandpit shells. Plastic and wood are among the primary materials used in the manufacture of sandboxes. The advantages and disadvantages of the two materials are explained below:
Sandboxes with lids guarantee protection against dirt, leaves and insects. Alternatively, you can purchase covers/protective tarpaulins that are stretched over the sandbox and also protect against the weather and animals.

3.The right play sand for the sandbox
The little ones' skin constantly comes into contact with play sand during play: that's why you should make sure that it is 100% free of harmful substances. The TÜV and GS seals guarantee that the sand is of impeccable quality. You should also consider the following aspects:
The sand must be neither too fine nor too coarse. In both cases, it is difficult for children to mold it. This quickly leads to frustration while playing and possibly also to your offspring avoiding the sandbox in the future. The ideal grain size for play sand is between one and two millimeters. The color of the sand is also important: it should be as light as possible - sand in a strong yellow color (usually sand with loam and clay components) can quickly lead to stains on clothing that are difficult or impossible to remove. To make transporting the play sand as easy as possible, you should use 25 kg bags. You can easily fill these in the sandbox yourself. Below we will show you how to find out the amount of sand you need for your sandbox: = With a square shape: inner length x inner width x height in cm: 1000 = For hexagonal and round shapes: (internal diameter in cm : 2)^ 2 x desired filling height in cm x 3.14 x 1.6 : 1000 Important: The result is given in kilograms and corresponds to the amount that is needed to completely fill the sandpit. For this reason, you should choose the height that the sand should reach in the sandbox when making the calculation.
Hygiene and care Especially if the play sand has been outdoors over the winter months, it should definitely be replaced before the new season. However, there is often a lack of clarity as to how the sand may be disposed of. You will find the most important information below:
Where do I dispose of sandpit sand? Never dump your used sand in a forest or in public places. Otherwise you have to expect fines. Better to use it on your lawn: for this you will have to gradually spread the sand over your lawn. This procedure serves to loosen the soil and ensures that the soil remains permeable to water. Alternatively, you can mix the sand with potting soil and use it for your beds. If you have no use for the play sand, it's best to ask around in the neighborhood. If nobody needs your sand there either, it is worth visiting the city or municipal administration. This will provide you with detailed information about disposal options. However, apart from the transition to the next season, you should also check the sand for contamination several times during the summer months. In addition to droppings from wild animals, insect infestation can also occur - the sand may therefore have to be replaced more than once a year. To protect the sand from contamination, you can also consider a sandpit with a roof or a sandpit with a lid.
In the case of sandboxes made of wood, treatment with wood care products is also recommended: Use this once or twice a year to protect the material from the effects of the weather.
Sand toys sand toys A bucket, a shovel, and a couple of sand molds make a good base for playing in the sandpit. Sand toys make the play world of the little ones even more lively: shovels, buckets and sand molds are just a few accessories that your offspring are guaranteed to be happy about. Below we have put together a small selection of sand toys for you:
Sieve rake watering can Excavators, wheel loaders,… sand mill toy oven sand cake moulds
Important: When deciding on a sand toy, you should always pay attention to the age information. In addition, test seals such as the GS mark ("Tested Safety"), TÜV and "Toy Notification" seals stand for high quality and a non-toxic composition. Articles that are certified with these test seals do not contain any harmful plasticizers. In addition, the toy should be made of plastic instead of metal in order to limit the risk of injury as much as possible.
Sandbox Guide
Sandboxes for ultimate outdoor fun Small children love it, children anyway and adults always find it fun: playing in the sandbox. Whether baking cakes or building castles: the sand in the sandbox simply invites you to play great games. The outdoor toy is versatile and keeps children busy for hours. A sandbox in your own garden or on the terrace is a real child's dream that lures the little ones out into the fresh air every day. In addition to a lot of fun that the children have in the sandbox, this also offers a useful side effect: by grasping the sand, motor skills are trained and the children learn to grip better. So you can combine fun with usefulness in no time.
Sandbox, sand shell or sandbox? It usually doesn't matter where the sand is that the little ones play in. Whether sand box, sand shell or large sand box: the main thing is that there is enough sand. Depending on the number of children and the possible floor space, models of different sizes are of course also suitable. If you don't have your own garden and only have a balcony, there probably won't be room for a large sandpit. But this is not bad. Molds can be accommodated even in the smallest sandbox. And even if there is no more space for molds, this is not a problem. Digging and digging in the sand is usually sufficient. You can create tunnels, mountains or rivers with your own hands that are filled with water.
Sandbox with roof, cover or sandpit with lid Sand and moisture don't always mix well. Especially when it rains and the sandbox isn't covered, the small granules soak up moisture. Then an afternoon in the sandpit is unthinkable. To prevent this problem, there are different solutions. A sandbox with a lid, a roof or a sandbox with a cover promise a remedy here. A sandbox with a roof even offers several advantages. On the one hand, the fine grains are protected from moisture and, on the other hand, the children are protected from excessive solar radiation. A sandbox with a cover only protects against rain or dirt. However, such a model is sufficient to shield the sand from environmental influences. To increase the fun, sand toys such as molds or shovels are suitable. Great fantasy worlds can be created with this. In the Trekassy online shop you will find a large selection of sandboxes. With this outdoor toy and the matching sand toy, your little ones will become bakers and builders at the same time.

Swinging is not only fun for children, it also trains their sense of balance. But which swing is suitable for which age and how can the garden play equipment be securely fixed?
The swing children's swing Popular play equipment in the garden: children's swings Training the sense of balance is essential for the healthy physical and mental development of children. The swinging and the associated pendulum movements promote the children's movement coordination and body control. In addition, they get to know their spatial environment better.
A swing is either attached to a tree or a suitable frame.
1.1 Baby swings Even if the child is not yet able to swing on its own, baby swings are a lot of fun for the little ones. The rocking motion and vibration soothe the baby. They are suitable for toddlers from the age of six months. In contrast to a baby bouncer, however, it is important that the child can sit independently. Materials Wood, metal and plastic are common in the manufacture of children's and baby swings. Below we present the advantages and disadvantages of the materials:
Fixing the swing The easiest way to install a children's swing in the garden are models that can be attached to the branch of a tree. Free-standing swing frames or large swing frames, on the other hand, must be firmly anchored to the ground. Here you have the following options:
ground anchors or sleeves The anchors or sleeves are about 50 to 60 centimeters long and are simply screwed into the ground. The swing frame is then attached to it.
Note: They are not suitable for very sandy soil. concrete foundation For this type of anchoring, a hole about 60 centimeters deep must be dug for each frame leg. Then place the swing in the holes and pour concrete over them.

Climbing frames FAQ
When can a child climb? Children make their first climbing experiences at the age of 1.5 years. However, proper climbing frames should not be considered before the age of 3 years.
When does a climbing frame make sense? Smaller climbing devices such as climbing triangles can be used from the age of 1.5 to 2 years. Proper outdoor climbing frames should only be purchased at the age of 3 years.
What promotes a climbing frame? Mainly the motor skills of the child are challenged and encouraged. Plus a certain logical understanding. The child has to find the path for themselves and then cover it to get over the climbing frame.
Which children's climbing frames are the most popular for indoor use? Indoor scaffolding is usually much smaller and is made of softer plastic for reasons of space and safety. They are intended more for the very little ones. A climbing triangle is recommended here, for example.
Which climbing frames for the garden are the best? This question can hardly be answered in general. It always depends on how many children with what interests and preferences at what age want to play on it. In general, however, it can be said that scaffolding made of solid and impregnated wood is sometimes the safest.
How high should a children's climbing frame be? While a 90 cm high climbing triangle should be suitable for very small children around the age of 2, all other heights depend more on the individual developmental level of the child. Either way, climbing should not be unsupervised until the age of about 7 to 8 years.
PLACING A BEAUTIFUL AND SAFE GARDEN SWING
I have already said other times how lucky we are to be able to enjoy a garden in the center of Milan. Having a garden - compared to a terrace - requires a big commitment, because to have an aesthetically pleasing place you need to make an important economic and physical investment.
games to put in the garden The garden is an endless job, a passion too. And luckily we love taking care of greenery. What we lack, as usual the economic capacity to be able to do what we would like in complete serenity. The famous "seen and liked", without first having to carry out a hundred checks on the best price, evaluations and yes … even renunciations when the cost is too high for our finances.
Choices have to be made: this yes, this no… this later, when it's possible!
For now we have done everything by ourselves but with not too satisfactory results.
Our dream is to have an English-style lawn, with the grass always green and well cared for. We tried but, despite having followed all the various steps, the weed continues to grow back and in some places the grass has never really sprouted due to the many stones present.
Meanwhile, as usual, I begin to dream ahead of time.
That that really costs nothing.
As I did with the fireplace for which I began researching online three years ago and which will finally be delivered to me within a few days.
In our garden, as soon as it's nice to look at, with a nice well done lawn and multicolored flowering plants on the sides, we'd like to put some outdoor wooden games, like a swing.
For me, who doesn't really like going to the park it would be a godsend because it would allow me to be right with my conscience.
Now on the Trekassy website under the swing heading there are several solutions…without wanting to overdo it, I was thinking of something like this.
garden wooden swing
In my opinion, swing and climbing are games that my girls, who are four and a half years apart, would agree on. Or maybe even the slide?
I'm undecided, but I wouldn't even want something too bulky that would occupy the whole garden obviously (it must be said that we also have a large patio where we can be outdoors and we rarely set foot in the garden).
Games for the garden Which of these two solutions do you suggest?
I saw that it is a Swedish site. There, despite the colder temperatures, it is absolutely normal to take the children to play outdoors. Furthermore, there are many houses there that have a green handkerchief where children can be given free rein.
So these types of structures are also very common among private individuals and not only in public play areas.
In any case, you can choose different accessories for the swing, more or less professional, depending on the budget and age of the child who will be lucky enough to have a game like this in his own garden.
