Trekuriously Tested:
Janith’s Little Oruwa Adventure at Oriole Villas
It was high noon and Janith, a member of the Trekurious Team, decided to venture out into the Manawatha Ganga on an Oruwa with a beefy guy making no attempt to hide a 32 inch machete or his displeasure, and the hotel director’s mother. In all fairness Janith was told about Somapala the resident river monster beforehand; mostly for legal reasons as it would have been rather unfortunate if a surprise introduction made him faint right on to the creature. So he set off and the rest of the team watched him float away without a hat or sunblock on, in 30°C weather.
When he finally returned an hour later he had quite the tale to tell, one which involved gathering wild Kurumba on the banks as a cruise refreshment, river bird watching, working on those t-shirt tan lines and snapping a few amazing pictures.
He was rather tight-lipped about Somapala though.
