thoughts on mr henderson/the landlord?? (he becomes the trench digger boss)

also im curious on if he's paralyzed from the waist down or if one of his legs are missing, since it's implied that he's a veteran of war

I don't have a super strong opinion on Henderson at the moment, but I think his concept and design is really cool! Like his mutated form is a huge mixture of a crab and star nosed mole, it's hella creative.

I personally also can't tell if he's just paralyzed or amputated. I'm kinda leaning towards amputated since his trench digger form has so many limbs.

Trench Digger

A film clip, IWM IWM 508-45, released #OTD Jan 19 1918, shows sappers and French Engineers using a trench digging machine, with chain buckets, to dig a section of trench.

June 8 1918 #OTD American photographer MSE S.C. Squadrilli takes these photos of a machine used for excavating trenches during #WWI.

Caption reads: 

Members of the 307th. Field Signal Battalion, 82nd. Division digging with machine, trench which runs from Minerville to Heritage, Brig. Hdqrs. This trench is 6-8 ft. deep and 21 inches wide, it is used to bury cable so the lines of communication can be kept up under the enemys's heavist fire. Anausville, France.

German Trench Digger with War Dog - 194X

A spot illustration for the art book I'm working on called "194X" about an alternate history sci-fi reimagining of WW2. Still trying to make my paintings look more like traditional oils. This is a German soldier named Volker and his War Dog Rolf, who likes to lend a hand by carrying around a spade.
