When Alexandra felt the brush of Kyrrha's lips ghosting her cheek, she could had sworn it was her imagination. Warmth nestled where she thought Kyrrha had kissed, and the Inquisitor glanced over at the elf in her lap, who was smiling with all the softness of dawn's light in her eyes. "Did...did you just kiss me?"
"Yeah!" said Kyrrha, her smile breaking away as sudden worry flitting through her green eyes, ears twitching and dropping a bit. Terror grasped at Alexandra's heart at the sight; and she opened her mouth to ensure she did not mean anything against it, but Kyrrha's mumble tore her words out of her. "I'm sorry. I...I just wanted to kiss you."
"No, no, no," Alexandra exclaimed, shaking her head, a fond smile touching her lips even as the terror in her heart slashed and sunk and cut deeper. Her thumb gently caressed her chin as she titled Kyrrha's head up. "I did not mean it like that, ma amour. I was just surprised, that is all." Tilting her head, Alexandra pressed a light kiss onto Kyrrha's cheek, her smile growing as she felt the skin warm like fire.
As Alexandra pulled away, she saw in the corner of her eyes Kyrrha's smile return, so eager and pleased, elongated ears twitching lightly. Her face suddenly was pressed against her neck, Kyrrha's sight heard against the muffle of her jacket's collar, arms wrapping around her neck and legs about her waist. Without a moment's hesitation, Alexandra begun to stroke her back, humming an elven tune her mother used to sing during moments of leisure.
She felt Kyrrha's breath slowly flow into gentle breaths, tiny snores leaving her and quieted by Alexandra's coat. That did not stop her in her singing, flowing from Orlesian to Elven to Tevene or Antivan, her pen flying across another report, mind only half on it; and not even half. Most of her mind was drawn on Kyrrha, like how one would stare at the first flower of spring blossoming in the snows of winter, a promise of life returning after the nights of death.
And Kyrrha was truly Alexandra's spring flower in the cold chasms of winter. Though the words may be left unsaid, it can only be so as the kiss brought more life into her than anything drink or spell could ever do.
