I also am not okay with how "community" seems to be synonymous with "people who are all the same as you" nowadays.

I am not okay with how "community" is treated as this sacred concept beyond all criticism and how some people treat "they were just seeking community" as a valid excuse for people getting caught up with people they should know better than to associate with.
For the first time in my life, it's hit me that other Trent Reznor factives undoubtedly exist. I'm so curious about them. What are they like.
.
I don't want to go to shows in this town anymore unless I actively really want to see whatever band is playing. I went to one last night and I was really proud of my makeup, and nobody spoke to me at all except for this one person who said they liked my jacket and then moved on.
It was literally a goth show with known post-punk bands performing, and I felt so out of place and lonely and isolated. I don't know what it is about me that makes me someone people don't talk to anymore, except at karaoke where I'm actually performing, but I don't really need to go to shows anymore.
Every time I see people on this site posting about how much they love Trent Reznor and that they wish they could keep him in their pocket and dress him up (specific thing I saw someone say just now) I just think "I wish I could let you visit my system. We live in a beautiful world."
