A massive apex predator whose potential relatives lived on Earth in prehistoric times.
Tyrannosaurus Novus. The tyrannosaurus hatches from a long, dark, egg about the length of a human torso. Once hatched after 4 months of gestation, a little tyrannosaurus reaches full maturity after 20 years and usually lives for about 30 years. They care quite little about their young.
With its powerful nose, the tyrannosaurus tracks and with its superior, infrared based vision it finds prey day and night. There is no pattern to when it hunts. Some tyrannosaurs prefer to stalk during the day, while others kill at night.
Tyrant of Tyrants. This colossal predator is an apex predator. Smart, fast and equipped with a bone crushing bite, it can hunt and kill almost anything. Its usual prey is huge and the tyrannosaurus will spend most of its time stalking herbivorous dinosaurs. Carrion is also on the tyrannosaurus' menu, but not its preferred food. Unless exceptionally hungry or provoked, it's not a danger to medium and smaller creatures. This means that living in the territory of a tyrannosaurus can often be beneficial to humans and similar humanoids. As long as a farmer keeps only small livestock, the tyrannosaurus will care nothing for them. It will, however, hunt down herbivores that would devour the farmer's crops and also scares off, or devours, many dangerous predators like owlbears.
