Decile Minor Aspect; Tenth Harmonic
A decile occurs when two energies are 36 degrees apart (or 108 degrees to form a tri-decile), the orb shouldn’t be anymore than 1. I would say this is a considerably minor aspect, even compared to the quintile, which is a Sun/5th harmonic aspect. The reason for this is because in comparison to a quintile, a decile gives off a Saturn/10th harmonic energy which is obviously not going to be as prominent as a light ruled aspect such as a quintile. I will describe how someone might go about interpreting a decile (or tri-decile) despite the lack of information there is on it based on what I believe and researched.
Based on how I interpreted the quintile, I believe the decile is quite similar in the sense that it captivates the energy of a planet and house; Saturn and the 10th house. It shows restriction and growth; abilities to be developed overtime with patience and persistence. The quintile shows habits and talents that already exist in the individual that are either hidden or so natural that they don’t appear quirky to the individual, but in the decile, we see where hard work can pay off if it is done... An unperfected skill that has the potential of being perfected... So where does the 10th house factor come in? Well, we associate the 10th house mostly to do with career so look at this way; Typically people attend post-secondary institutions to further education in an area that interests them for career goal related reasons. So comparing that to a decile, whatever work you put into it, you’re likely doing it because you plan on using that developing skill for your future goals, especially career. Nobody dedicates time into learning a skill just because, it must have purpose. Deciles show learning a skill with purpose.
Ruling out very specifically what a decile means to an individual will be somewhat difficult, especially since this is a minor aspect, but the key to interpreting it is understanding the associations of the energies/planets involved and then taking into consideration what the decile stands for... Restriction... Persistence... Hard work = reward.... Skill with purpose...
An example; imagine a natal chart with a Libra midheaven, so maybe this individual has interest in an artistic or musical career field, but lets say in their chart has Mercury decile Venus involving say, the 2nd and 3rd house. Their passion is music, but maybe because of this decile, they had to work very hard with intense dedication and overcome some difficulties developing their artistic and musical ability. Their hard work pays off, the Saturn energized aspect grants them with extraordinary, outstanding talent and they decide to utilize that talent in its respected career path.
This is an aspect that becomes benefic when the individual decides it has purpose and must be learned.
A lot of astrologers believe this a ridiculously minor aspect and should disregarded from a chart, but I’ll leave that up to each and every individual to decide if a decile (or tri-decile) has importance. I think it would be ridiculous to say it has no significance at all because it actually broadens the possible relationships between planets/energies, especially seemingly unaspected planets.
