Today Bleu and I went on our first trail ride together! I was finally able to make one of the TROT trail rides and someone was able to pick Bleu up so we could go. It was nice and laid back, a walk only trail ride - perfect for our first one. His previous owner told me he had been trail riding, but I wasn’t sure what to expect. 

He was amazing! He quickly calmed down and “moseyed” along (as much as he can mosey). He wasn’t bothered by the other horses around him - I actually had to pay attention so we would bump too close to other horses’ behinds. He went over the bridges like they were nothing. He didn’t try to run up to the rest of the pack when we trailed behind the front half. We went up and down hills. He listened to me when I asked him to stay at the walk, he slowed to a walk the couple of times he broke into a trot.

He was so good and it was about as perfect as you could hope for! A great way to start our trail riding career. (And something for me to remember for when he’s inevitably less than perfect in the future.)
