Triangle and Robert was one of those meta webcomics that were oh-so popular back in the day, and that i still love now. Basically Robert, in addition to a basically antagonistic relationship with the cartoonist, has a keen skill for cheating and working around the structure of the comic.

Guise

Sentinels of the Multiverse is a card game based on superhero comics and Guise is a character in it that clearly takes inspiration from Deadpool, in that he's a goofy character known for breaking the 4th wall in both the comics of him that don't actually exist, and in the cards themselves. Some cards have art that depict him interacting with the cards' other graphics, such as picking up a text box to whack a villain with it, some card effects involve making the player physically do stuff like high fiving another player or getting up and doing a silly dance, and one card is simply titled: "Best Card Ever!"

the opening of the game including player name entry (which is separate from character name entry) is framed as more speaking directly to you the player and introducing certain ideas the game will circle back to, also asking for your name in the process. his segments in general are the only place your entered name as the player comes up to my knowledge. he also authored a utopian fantasy novel that's central to the game's "metaphor" which centres on an idealised version of our real life world. this part is slightly less cut-and-dry due to certain sections of the plot i won't get into but paired with the opening segment it paints a very interesting picture

Princess H

As the narrator highlights how Princess H is trying to lead Super64 into a trap, she yells at him to pipe down, as they haven't figured it out yet. Then after the narrator reintroduces her (moments after she says her name), she interrupts, saying she already introduced herself. The two then proceed to have a massive argument while Super64 just stands there awkwardly and then leaves.

is female characters all being rectangles a flatland reference? all the women are lines in that book. its not quite the same i suppose?

It’s a good question! Certainly the author was familiar with Flatland. Later strips go a bit into how T&R’s polygon society views people differently based on shape, but the way that works is pretty different, and gender is hardly ever directly addressed. My guess is there’s some Flatland influence here, but we may never know for sure.

The vast majority of the strip’s characters are male, so it’s not very surprising that the convention for markedness works out this way.
