Important question: would danny prefer bill vlad or not. Bc on one hand, oh christ this is infinitely more umpredictable, who the fuck and what the fuck. But on the other hand, its not vlad anymore even if it looks like him, and also his creepiness isnt a weird him-specific creepy dad complex anymore, its just a very general creep factor now, lmao

Could you share some of the special edition Bill facts you know? I joined the fandom later than most people so I never really participated in the deep dive aspect. I’d love to hear about it if you want to share!!

Okay so first of all I highly recommend just checking out the Bill Cipher reddit AMA for yourself because it's a LOT of fun and it's where most of my favorite content is from such as:

- Bill can see through any depiction of himself

- Bill alluding to the M dimension, which would later be referenced by Ford, who was infuriated by it, in Journal 3

- if you draw Bill on one hand and then shake your own hands, you too can give your soul to our Triangular Overlord!

- it's not on my playlist anymore so the links may be broken now but Bill linked a couple of songs and one of them was by a band called Question Mark and the Mysteriums

- Bill's origins are based on the book "Flatland" by Edwin Abbot Abbot. In the lore of Flatland, as an equilateral triangle, Bill might have been a foster child given to "upstanding" equilateral parents after being born of acute triangles, and he would have been a member of the merchant class, just one step above the lowest class (acute triangles).

- The more sides you have, the higher class you are in Flatland. The lowest class is treated as sub-person, and the circles are a ruling class considered holy and inherently more intelligent.

- Shapes besides acute triangles with unequal side lengths are treated horribly as an analog for rampant abelism in the time the book was written. It was all a critique of Society you see.

- Flatland is a two dimensional world, meaning that its inhabitants SEE only one dimension (a line). In the book, the protagonist dreams of two and one dimensional worlds and their logistics and the attitudes and values of their inhabitants, which are limited by their perception. He doesn't apply this principle to himself until he is abducted by a 3rd dimensional being and shown the 3rd dimension, which terrifies and confuses him, because it usurps many of his perceptions about reality and people.

- When the protagonist is returned home by the sphere who abducted him, anything he says about a theorhetical third dimension is aggressively silenced. He explains at the end that he is imprisoned in home, has failed to enlighten anybody because of the circles' censorship, and slowly forgetting what a three dimensional shape looked like.

I also recommend checking the Gravity Falls wiki to look over the list(s) of codes and ciphers! There's some great stuff!

My favorite coded quote from Bill is from Journal 3, where it is directed at Ford: "YOU SNOOZE YOU LOSE PAL DON'T YOU UNDERSTAND I'M ONLY TRYING TO FREE YOUR DIMENSION / I ASK YOU WHY SHOULD TIME ONLY MOVE FORWARD WHY MUST CAUSE PRECEDE EFFECT WHO VOTED ON THE LAWS OF PHYSICS / RULES ARE PERVERSIONS AGAINST ALL WILL THATS WHY IM ABOUT TO REWRITE THE WHOLE SYSTEM BUDDY AND NO ONE IS GOING TO STOP ME.
