Exploring with: @him_kr - Has anyone seen this or even used it? . . This used to be a very common scene in the onset of Magh bihu in Assam decades back. Dheki, that's what it's called, is one of the essential tools for households in rural Assam. It is specially used on occasion like Magh bihu to grind rice (Bora sawul) so that the flour can be used to make pithas. Despite modern electric mills easily available, people throng to houses who have dheki for grinding their rice for bihu. While in Bastar, where this video was shot, people grind rice to make rice beer which is kept in abundance in every house to treat their guest during festivities and believe me festivals never end in Bastar Bdw, We had one at home 😉.. such dheki, #bastar #tribalpractices #chhattisgarh #Assam #Assamesepractices #dheki #ruralindia - #cfor36garh (at Bastar, Chhattīsgarh, India)
