What Happens in Vegas...Gets Posted on the Internet

Basically this is just an introduction post to my personal blog, journal, editing diary (ok, not that one), or whatever. I am going to be posting screens of my Sony Vegas editing work place here to show any potentially interested people a glimpse into what goes on behind the scenes of my YouTube videos on my channel called "TribbleCrossing". I'm not saying my videos are anything AMAZING in terms of look, success, content, and technical knowledge of the Sony Vegas program. Why? 1. Because I hate everything I do. And 2. I'm still learning the program as well. Ever since I first started using Sony Vegas I've been learning as I go. I haven't taken any classes because I like learning at my own pace (that pace is "do it when I feel like it...maybe). So, I have realistically only USED the program with any kind of effort for only about 7 months between now and 2009 (see the "brief" history below). I've only ever made or started making 10 videos, 2 I've scrapped, 8 I've uploaded, and 1 I took down after uploading because it was crap.
A Little Dose of History
About two or two and half years ago is when I first "received" a copy of Sony Vegas 8.0 and Fraps. From here, I played with the program a bit and I got addicted to it. I don't know what it was, but I got a ton of enjoyment and satisfaction from creating videos. My first ever completed (and uploaded) video was the poorly named "Random Gore and Dismemberment in Video Games" (creative no?). This video was orignally on a channel called Pwndora's Bocks. This channel was a group YouTube channel that a few other online friends and myself contributed videos to. Unfortunately, I chose to leave that group this last April (pretty much because hilariously stupid Internet drama). I have since taken down all my 7 uploaded videos and re-uploaded them to Tribble Crossing. Why that name? That name comes from one part random word generators and another part my only real Internet alias "Tribble". Here my videos are doing rather well, but haven't yet achieved some of their lost "glory" (AKA views). I also have acquired...uh....how do you say....actual and non-borrowed copies of both Fraps and Sony Vegas 10.
Why Should You Care?
You shouldn't care, unless you want to. I am making this blog so potential future followers (if any) can see what goes on in Sony Vegas. I have yet to finalize how often I will post screens of the work I'm doing. Depending on the project, I will release either a screen and some information after I've some sort of modification to the project. If I chose this route, I may also show the images in sequence of how the project looked and developed over the course of my work. I may also just release a few screens before I release a video as well. Will you learn something from following this blog? Almost a guarantee! Will it be helpful and/or something very beneficial to your own video projects/interests? Probably not. I have absolutely no experience in a classroom so I'm probably unaware or not doing things that have clearly more efficient ways to do them. However, I've developed my own style of editing as a result and I can live with that. I also won't talk down to any of my followers like I have a Ph.D in video editing and douchebagery when I myself just learned how to do some sort of effect in the last 20 minutes. I hope that whoever reads this blog will feel free ask me questions about how/why I do whatever in Sony Vegas. I don't promise the ability to answer it the best or at all, but I will sure as hell try.
