Art Projects International is very pleased to announce Line and Light, an exhibition of ten new acrylic and oil paintings by Il Lee, many completed in 2022. The exhibition will be on view from September 17 – November 19, 2022.
So much fun to have an impromptu studio visit with my new neighbor, Onyedika Chuke, creator of the new and exciting Storage Gallery and his great assistant, Tiffany Jung, last night. I was in the middle of packing paintings, that I did in the 1990’s, and are heading to a gallery show in Brooklyn, and I thought he’d like to see some of the work before it was all wrapped. The wrapping was going on in my husband, Jeff Way’s studio, who graciously allowed the interruption. Such a great time talking to both of them and getting their impressions of the things in my studio, Jeff’s studio, and around the house. We’ve been collectors of all kinds of art, with a focus on the self-taught for many years. Exciting to have such a terrific new gallery, and gallery directory, on the block!! @storageartgallery #tribecagalleries #newyorkart #tribecaart #nycartscene @audigras @tiffany.jung #nyartistscircle @nyartistscircle #oiloncanvaspaintings #contemporaryfigurativeart #artiststudiospace (at Tribeca, New York City) https://www.instagram.com/p/CkwRhWnO1xn/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
Color as Space April 28 - June 30, 2022
Art Projects International is pleased to present “Color as Space” — the third of the gallery’s BACK WALL initiatives — featuring works by Bahar Behbahani, Mariano Ferrante, Seokmin Ko, Il Lee, Soo Im Lee, Filipe Rocha da Silva, Gwenn Thomas, Richard Tsao, and others. The exhibition foregrounds color and brings attention to how contemporary artists use color, beyond any synesthetic tendencies, to define concept, dimension, and territory.
