He frowns and looks up at her "you saved this planet, Barton... so many people, how can you not think yourself the hero, and now... now here you sit with the creature who started it all... tried to be king in a realm that was not his to be king of, tending to his wounds and comforting his pained heart..." he says looking up with a deep frown.

“That’s atonement. Atoning isn’t about being a hero or even always doing what’s deemed the right thing, it’s just making sure you’re making up for the things you did.” She explained, she didn’t see herself as a hero, but she knew some did and that was fine she supposed. “I’m just trying to be a good person when I can and like I said, someone gave me a second chance once so.” She shrugged and smiled a little at him. “But thank you.”

"Here... with you." he says smiling a little and squeezing her hand. "I... I always wanted to be the hero... I just always felt like Thor... well it didn't seem to matter what I did it was always wrong somehow." he says "Most of the time I was just trying to help... at least at first... I guess I got angry and bitter and... " he trailed off looking down.

“With… me?” She blinked a little surprised by that. “Okay.” Still despite her surprise it made her smile softly. “But I’m not a hero.” He had been right, all those things he said to her before on the Helicarrier, he was so right in a way. She would never be able erase the stain, but she was trying to make up for it at least. “You want to wipe it out.” She used his words. “Atonement is a long, hard and endless road.”

He frowns a little bit. "I don't want an allias, a fake persona... I want to be me... just me free of all the mistakes I've made."

“I know.” She gave his hand a small squeeze. “Anywhere you’d like to do that in particular?”

He smiles a little bit "Loren... not to bad." he says smiling. "Alright, I'll go by Loren then."

A more genuine, true smile slipped across the redhead’s lips as he decided to take up her suggestion. “We’ll need to figure out a last name as well for identification purposes and it might in time do you good to come up with multiple aliases.” She suggested and then laughed lightly realizing she had gone into work mode a bit. “Excuse me, I was thinking a little too much like a spy.”

He sighs a little bit "How about... I don't know Do you have any idea's?" he asks

“Hmm.” She thought a moment. Lucas was too obvious somehow to her. “What about Loren?” She suggest. “Kind of suits you.”

"Really?" he says looking at her. "How do you pick a name though?"

“Well I picked the westernized or Americanized version of my actual name.” She explained. “My true name, it’s Natalia. Natasha means the same thing it does. You could pick something with the same first letter and amount of letters or whatever sounds good to you.”

He nods "I've always wondered who named me... Odin or Laufey." he says frowning "What if I picked a different name... something without so much... baggage?"

“If you want.” She said with a shrug. “I sort of changed my name too, when I joined SHIELD.”

He smiles a little bit and takes her hand. "Thanks... that really cleared things up." he teases sticking his tongue at her.

“Well it’s a start.” She chuckled a bit and stuck her tongue right back out at him. “But in all seriousness consider this a new start? It’s easy to disappear on this planet for that reason, trust me.”
