1924 - Mt. Everest - George Mallory and his British team embark upon their journey up Mount Everest. Each wearing the Tricouni "clou" which was a small attachment for boots to assist with gripping etc. In fact when Mallory’s body was found in 1999 it was noted that his “clou” were still attached to his remaining boot.

Climbed Tricouni with my dad today! We pushed through the rain and fog and even managed to macGiver his boot with a piece of prussic cord when the sole started peeling off… The views were pretty intermittent, but it was a great day in the mountains and it was nice to tick this one off :)
