‘ I won’t let you do this! ‘
THE SCROLLREMAINS CLUTCHED IN GLOVED HANDS AS SHE MOVES, nohesitation pausing her movements as clad frame travels across to where her children are waiting, stirring only atthe sight of their mother. Blood is pumping in her veins at the thought ofexactly what she’s about to do – to go tothe most dangerous place in the world – and yet, she knows that they wouldnever have sent for help if they weren’t desperate. They’re her men and herallies and she can’t just stand by – AGAIN – as they’re plucked off by an enemywho she’d believed so vehemently was nothing more than a myth.
His words pierce through a mind already made up, even as ahand presses to the warm scales of her mount, petite frame turning to directher question as hues flicker up to the male trailing behind her. It tookeverything to keep him from going the first time (because, as his men hadreminded him, he’d never been beyondthe Wall, he was technically the Kingin the North, and it was a suicide mission) – but there’s no way he can come with her now.
“And what would you have me do?”
Braid whipped across her shoulder as amethyst hues locked oncerulean, breathing sharply as distressed features find the anger in his. Thewolf within is obvious, brimming beneath the surface, as much as the dragonrises in her.
“Assuming you could stopme, your brother is out there, and unless you want to lose another one of your family, we don’t have another choice right now.I have to go.”
Another moment lingers, and her features soften just slightly.
“I’ll bring him back, Robb. I won’t… I won’t let you loseanyone else. You have my word.”
