last word on quitting cigs? - a thank you
thanks to everyone who has sent support and kind words and encouragement regarding quitting smoking! You're all very sweet and wonderful people. I even got a couple of anonymous messages telling me that my cravings are normal and also cheering me on. :D
To be honest: it's not even a real struggle, though. The moment I stabbed out that last cigarette, I haven't doubted for a second that I was done. I've wanted cigs and had weird habitual desires for cigs and missed cigs, but I have not once seriously thought of smoking nicotine cigarettes (I've seriously considered herbals, but even that is rapidly fading).
Basically, the fight to not smoke was over as soon as I decided to not smoke anymore. The fight to recover control of my body and mind from this fucking drug I've been on began, then, and it's going pretty well, IMHO.
Thank you for everyone's encouragement and prayers - I couldn't have done it without you or without God, and I'm going to have to keep depending on Him, but I'm so much happier just because I feel like I won - and that's really cool. :3
