The long-rumored band Trigger Hippy finally pulled the trigger on new music. And from the sounds of things, the next super group might actually be super.

Trigger Hippy - featuring the Black Crowes’ drummer Steve Gorman; guitarist Tom Bukovac; bassist Nick Govrik; and singers Joan Osborne and Jackie Greene - debuted “Rise up Singing” from their upcoming self-titled album on Guitar World today.

Greene served as the Crowes’ guitarist on their 2013 tour and both he and Osborne have toured with Phil Lesh and Friends.

This is a good-time single that sounds like a half-speed version Grand Funk Railroad’s take on Gerry Goffin and Carole King’s “Some Kind of Wonderful.” It’s 70s-style rock with a modern flavor - hand-clap driven and featuring joyous vocal ad libs from Greene and Osborne.

Trigger Hippy is slated for a Sept. 30 release.
