I cannot count the number of times a drunken night of revelry back in my university days ended with a huge group of us dancing to "Home for a Rest" (sometimes on the tables). And I'd love to say that I remember more details than just the fact that I had an amazing night when I saw Spirit of the West live in a tiny venue at Foreplay (the opener to Engineering Week at UBC) in '98. But the most indelible mark that John Mann has made on my life is something he most likely never knew about. The Crawl Marathon which I founded four years ago and which has become an annual tradition and one the highlights of each year, was based on his song "The Crawl." "From the Troller to the Raven, and all SOPs in between."
