CG people stay with me there’s a reason I tagged this
I can't feel it fully
Or anything that's in between
I am sinking slowly
And soon I'd rather just hang it
I saw the light
And the light is blinking(?) in and out
Of my room
Until the final time I finish and go back to bed
I took boomers
Just to feel like George Clooney
After dinner
I walk home amid some pain again
Turn on commercials
And flush with water
Watch for common side effects
I feel drowsy
Aggressive, angry
Difficulty with speaking
Excitation
Hives, itching or a rash
Loss of pleasure
Shaking, acute restlessness
With some paleness and some nightmares and a higher
risk of death
I feel better
I feel better
Transcribed from promo for the CD and merch.
Boomers is apparently slang for LSD which is why I settled for it (George Clooney apparently did quite some drugs back in the day)
I can’t figure out that one line after “Turn on commercials” for the life of me, but I did learn that there’s an animated series called Common Side Effects that’s about drugs, so I feel like it might be a reference to that show [edit: I think it might say "And flush with water" so I've changed it to that]
Pretty sure the ‘light’ lines refer to smoking (weed)?
The very last two lines might also be a repetition of the ‘I feel drowsy’, but visually it looks more like ‘better’ to me
edit: the 'blinking' could also be 'clinking' or 'clicking', but it doesn't really change the meaning anyways
So now for the CG truthers of us (just ignore this part otherwise): It’s a song about drugs… Referencing a show about drugs, more specifically mushrooms with healing effects that big pharma and the government try to keep secret. Do with that what you will — #trippygate?
Edit before people get mad: This is obviously a very personal song about his experience with (prescription) drugs and I want to emphasise that I don’t think those lyrics should solely be attributed to CG theories. I’m assuming those are still his own experiences and if there is any meta stuff involved it’s more vague (like the general theme, name of the song, merch etc.)
