Wait who kissed Triv???

Mogen from the academy in Braum! He had a crush on Triv for years and thought, since Marked go to the G.A. post lower education, that he could muster his courage for a quick confession and wouldn’t have to be embarrassed about seeing Triv again for years, if ever. So, at the end of graduation, he enacted his plan. He sped through a version of “I’ve always liked you”/“good luck”/“i’ll never see you again” and pressed a quick kiss to Triv’s lips only for Triv to bluntly inform him that they wouldn’t be leaving for the G.A. for another three years.

Triv would have preferred that their first kiss had been someone they loved or at the very least liked, but they didn’t dwell on it much beyond that interaction.

Okay I'm back I think I've cracked the code? I tried a few combinations of affinities/ personalities/ etc. and MC is always ranked last. I think this most obviously correlates with the most consistent plot point of the MC being the one to awaken last, because they were suppressed. And this would also justify Em being first, as they are from the old bloodline and probably awakened as a baby. And I went back to check how old Welling was when they awakened and OMG I didn't even notice that mageWelling was actually awakened as a baby!!! (that is some insane Welling lore btw) That basically confirms the rest of the rankings, 3yr old awakening Venali is ahead of 9yr old guardianWelling but behind baby mageWelling, first generation Triv is fourth, and poor suppressed MC is dead last.

This also explains why Triv immediately pivots to trying to reassure the MC when you ask about it. Triv is of course the only character who has already brought up the MC's late awakening after the timeskip (and they always have their foot in their mouth lol). I think they probably think the MC is insecure about it or something.

The only thing I don't get is why the Lystonians would know any of this, especially given how secretive about our marked shit we are expected to be. And how they don't really seem to know much about marks in general. Maybe Em gave them the order in advance? And this is meant to be a sign that he knows all about our MC's history and our late awakening?

Lol you don't have to publish this, I know it is spoilery stuff that you probably don't want to share, but I wanted to tell you that your story is basically the DaVinci Code to me. I know people mostly focus on the romance (and the romance is really good!!) but for me it's really the lore and the intrigue, and I am always scouring the story for new shit, I think you have a real talent for mystery

Me?? Mystery?? That’s honestly such high praise because I feel like I’m too obvious about some of the crumbs of information I choose to leave behind lol (I’m glad you’re finding them!). But, theories! This is so fun. Without spoiling, I’ll say you’re onto something, but you may have pivoted hard in another direction somewhere.

I HAVE A PLAN ! As my MC does not wish to have a child and isn't really into raising one either, I will take full advantage of Em's interest in S, have them do their Prodigy Lineage stuff together and romance Em without any worry 👍 ( S PLEASE HELP A FRIEND OUT )

But if MC is marrying Em, they’re going to expect MC to raise their heir with them as a parent! They won’t settle with anyone who doesn’t have a genuine interest in children. And then, there would be no benefit for Triv to conceive with Em when they’re trying to settle and have their own marriage/family too!

Triv deserves LOVE I know merging with the second oldest noble family is probably an insane opportunity but dang is it worth having Em's mother on your back and getting all the insane expectations and responsibility ? EM STAY AWAY 🤺

Wait, that’s a good point! You know, I don’t think Triv would survive Yunrle at all lol. But! Fortunately Triv is a romantic at heart and genuinely wants to marry for love if they can.

I’m holding the phone! Yes, they can be canon if either isn’t romanced. Em has to marry someone. Not only is Trivelyn a Prodigy—which they consider a bonus given their family history—but they also have quite a few of the traits that Em values in a partner. Additionally, and most importantly, Trivelyn wants children.

For Trivelyn, they’re pressured to succeed for both themselves and their family. For Prodigies, being connected to the Prodigier and their line is like.. gold tier. Trivelyn already aspires to work beneath the Prodigier in diplomacy/politics so their goals are already in that general area. Also, they really do admire Em immensely and they already have a respect between them.

So, seeing that Em and Triv can get married (out of convenience?) if not romanced - in my playthrough they're both men and if their reason for getting together is at least partially because they both need biological heirs.. Um?

Navaarians use surrogacy when needed (or preferred). I have a couple of asks on it! Due to their heritage, Em will have a prodigy child no matter what. So, though their mother doesn’t much like it, they personally aren’t worried about using a surrogate to have an heir. They wouldn’t be marrying Trivelyn for prestige or to ensure that they have a marked child as other nobility or noble houses do—they don’t need it. It would strictly be for the favorable traits they see in Trivelyn.

Then you have Trivelyn. As they are first generation and come from a small town, unmarked family; they don’t have any influential position to maintain. They’re providing the foundation. Just by marrying into the Preval line, they’re already propelling their family into one of the highest positions of power (only two other families are above the Prevals and one of them is the royal family itself). While nobles would be more adamant about their heir having biological children with a member of another influential house, Trivelyn’s parents would be plenty gleeful about Trivelyn’s position. And any child through surrogacy would be considered Trivelyn’s child as well. So their parents would get to be gleeful about that too.
