“Oh great,” Walter said, sighing heavily. “She’s gone.”
“Brilliant job, idiot! This is entirely your fault, you know. If you’d ever shut your mouth for more than five minutes--”
“I was doing just fine before you came back and started pawin’ at her! God damn it, Erith! That was my dinner!”
”You should’ve taken the initiative then, shouldn’t you? You didn’t even try to compliment her boobs.”
“I was going to, but you didn’t give me a chance! God, Erith; I’m starving!”
“I offered to share.”
“Ew. No. That’d be like sleeping with August.”
“This again? August is super pretty and you really don’t know what you’re missing. Also, there’s not a lot of sleeping. Anyway, I’m not him.”
“He’s my dad! Just... no.”
“He’s not your dad, Walter.”
“Whatever. I told you I’m starving, and I’m sick of hospital food,” he said, putting his now-empty glass down on the bar counter harder than he intended. “And at this rate, I’m gonna dry up and float away in a strong breeze because you don’t know when to back off.”
“Poor, poor, Walter! The night is young and the meat is getting more intoxicated by the minute; just find another. Oh! That one! The redhead leaning over that table.”
“Oh hey, yeah!”
“I don’t think she’s wearing anything under that dress, you know. On second thought...”
“Oh my god, Erith!”
“Fine! Go! I won’t steal another one from you. Ugh.”
