John Dory plush numba 2 :)

This one is made by a pattern completely of my own making! Very pleased with how he turned out :)

His hair is made of yarn that is knotted on the inside of the fabric and then brushed out

I ended up getting these adorable dreamworks trolls Branch and poppy plush from Amazon

(They have magnets in their hands so that they’re holding each other’s hands)

Saw @grapejuicecarton go through and make a John Dory BAB and it inspired me to try and work towards making my own from scratch ! I had a Poppy Build a Bear so I decided to steal her pattern and work from there! (Your JD looks great btw grapejuicecarton I love it to death!)

Putting it all under a readmore so it doesn't clog up the dash! Big post :)

Now I'm not necessarily a pro at plush making and this is the first time I've snatched a pattern off of a plush like this, so I wanted to test it out before going out and getting all the material I'd need to make my own John Dory. However, I DID have the material on hand from previous projects to make a grey Branch >:)

And so he became my test dummy! Lemme tell you, this part of the whole thing was the fastest. The longest part was the hand embroidery I had to do for the face LMFAO

I do think the embroidery turned out good, especially since I don't have much experience in it at all!

Here he is all put together!! I still need to make his clothes, but it turns out baby clothes fit him just fine for now. I plan on stealing the patterns from those as well >:3

All in all, I'm pretty happy with how he's turned out. I'm gonna have to do some fiddling with the pattern around the head since I'm not the happiest with it, and if possible I'd love to try for machine embroidery. Once I get his clothes made (eventually), I'll make sure to share an update about that too :D
