Watching Trooping the Colour 2026 from America
Even though I'm currently travelling across the United States on my 2026 road trip, there was never any chance I was going to miss Trooping the Colour.
No matter where I am in the world, events like this remind me exactly who I am and where I come from. Watching the King's Birthday Parade, with the precision of the soldiers, the music of the bands, the Household Cavalry, and the unmistakable pageantry that Britain does better than anyone else, filled me with pride once again.
There is something timeless about Trooping the Colour. In a world that seems determined to rush forward and forget its history, Britain continues to honour tradition, duty, service, and continuity. It is one of those occasions that remind us that we are part of something much bigger than ourselves.
Watching from thousands of miles away only strengthened that feeling. The American scenery outside my window may be spectacular, but for a few hours my thoughts were firmly back in London.
As always, it was glorious. As always, it made me proud to be British.
God Save the King. 🇬🇧
