what do you dislike about the Downland arc?

My main objection is that it’s resolved through a guy coercing a woman into marriage (and presumably a sexual relationship) via pixie magic.

My secondary problems with it revolve around it being a weird b plot that I didn’t feel really added anything. The downlanders come back for final confrontation but… they’re hardly clutch in the battle, so it feels like it’s just there for padding. Also, how come a dead(?) god was living above them and they never cared much about it?

Plus, at least in the dub I last watched, the jokes are very much “wife bad, sex please” and making mother-in-law punchlines. Which is a sense of humour I despise.

Generally I try to keep a consistent, more grounded tone with my rewrite (you be the judge as to if I manage that!) but I couldn’t wrap my head around a way to apply that to Downland without me wanting to yeet my laptop into the sun and never write again.

I’d be interested to hear what people liked about this arc. I’ve not seen much discussion of it come across my dash.

I always joke that Kaede found what she assumed was an abandoned bunny in Middle School and took it home, Was Clef's origin Story (in 'canon').

On my blog Clef just started as an emotional support pet for Kaede in my Mastermind!Shuichi au.

But In canon, In middle school Kaede DID find an injured and malnourished bunny and took it home to take care of.

Once Clef reached full health everyone else realized WHY this baby bunny had been abandoned by everything and everyone.

Does Kaede know her rabbits a menace to everyone who isn't her? No. Not until it starts attempting to BODY SHUICHI on a daily basis for NO REASON. Clef famously hates the other protages in canon it's for no reason on this blog its JUST because i thought it'd be funny when I was doing a 'would clef bite' teir list.

Kaede: I odnt know why Clef got aggressive out of no where... Fuyuhiko: The fuck you mean out of no where? This rabbies shot waiting to happen has been trying to bite everyone since you GOT it.
