Thank you for reading Things Will Get Better The story was originally going to be a short story but I just kept adding to it, I also liked what I had as a short story that's why there are two versions of the story. the story was inspired by a lot of songs that I was listening to at the time lots of bits and pieces from those songs when I was thinking of this story. Holding My Breath by Midnight Cinema, Burn Me Now by Midnight Cinema, Heavy by Midnight Cinema Perfect Stranger by Midnight Cinema and Keep Breathing by Nathan Wagner. Especially by this song You by Nathan Wagner the ending, and Little bit by Without The Bitter, The Sweet Isn't As Sweet by Mayday Parade that was a big title, but not much but mostly by those 6 songs.

Chapter 12 Don't Go

Megan Pov Oliver and I are in the kitchen "I'm going to go home and get some stuff" Oliver quickly turns around "What !!," he says with a worried look on his face "sure hurt you," "it's Sunday she won't be there" "at least let me come with you" "you can come if you want". I was walking down the path heading to mine mums house "Meg !" I hear behind me "don't go, she'll hurt you, don't go".

Oliver Pov I'm sitting on the couch at home worried, I could sense something is wrong I stand up and start walking towards the door "something is wrong" I turnaround point at Lucy "stay here" and walk out the door. I run to Megan's house, I quickly open the door, Megan's it's mum was yelling and screaming at her, I grab Megan's arm and pull her behind me "DON'T TOUCH HER" she slapped me "IGNORANT BOY" still with Megan terrified behind me "DON'T TALK TO HER THAT WAY" and I turn around and walk towards the door still holding Megan's hand the tight grip "we'll get her stuff later" and walk out the door.

Megan Pov We were a few blocks away from my house and Oliver let's go of my hand, He turns around gives me a big hug I hug come back "thank you".

Chapter 11 This Is Nice

Oliver Pov I'm at school sitting on the bench with my friend "I need her" "You're still dealing with the shit with your mum" compared with the shit she has to deal with her mum" "she still living with you yeah, ?" "Yeah".

Megan Pov Oliver's mum drove me to school "thank you Mrs. Fautor" she turns around and looks at me "My son really likes you.

Oliver Pov Meg and I sitting on the couch watching tele Meg falls asleep on my shoulder, I looked down at her and thought to myself this is nice. Lucy comes into the lounge room "Lucy go back to bed". I've run around the corner and see Megan "Meg" I've run up to her and I held her hand I look at her and I smile. She looks at me "you've never really held my hand before" never held my hand before "I was scared" "scared, we been dating for five years". And we walked for awhile holding each other's hands. We are in my bed and I wrap my arms around Megan, and nozzle my head in and full asleep sleep.

Chapter 9 I Need You Here

Lily and Oliver's mum went off to do something. we are in Olivers room playing loud music kissing on the bed, Oliver takes his shirt off with him only in his black jeans we kiss some more he takes off my shirt he leans up, him on top of me looks down at me and I am just in my bra and my knickers, he sees all my bruises his face turns into a soft and sad look "I'm sorry" he hugs me "I'm sorry, I'm sorry".

Time skip morning

I was going to go home, Oliver stops me at the front door "stay here, I can make sure you're safe, I can protect you, make sure your bruises heal" "I have to go back, for my brother" "fucks sake, he's 18 he can look after himself, and I need you, to help me and looking after Lily, I need you to be here, I need you" he hugs me and I hug him back he starts to cry. "I don't know what to do".

Chapter 8 At Least We Have Each Other

Writers note Megan went home.

Oliver Pov I walk into the lounge room and I see my mum I was angry my mum is hardly here "I'VE BEEN LOOKING AFTER HER SINCE SHE WAS 7, BE HERE EVERY ONCE IN AWHILE BE HERE FOR LUCY, DAD NOT FUCKING HERE" I walk into the lounge room.

Megan Pov Oliver holding me in his bed "Wish I could protect you. I stayed over at Oliver's place for a few days. "We are walking down the path and we took Lucy to school Oliver looks at Lucy "hold my hand". We are sitting on the bench together "life is tough for us" I look at Oliver "but at least we have each other". We walk out of the school, and Lucy runs up to us "Lucy !" Oliver looks up "Mum !?" " I should be heading off then" Oliver turns around and grabs my hand "don't go" he looks back at his Mum "Meg can come too if she wants". And we get in Oliver's Mom's car and we all went to Oliver's house. Oliver and I went for a walk " it's a sometimes thing, it's not going happen all the time" he look at me "how's your dad ?" "he's coming around".

Chapter 7 She Hurt You Again

My mum walks into the house and I walking to the hallway and my mum started yelling at me for no reason I am to scared to talk back, "I didn't" "how dare you speak to me like that" and she starts hitting me. I went outside and I called Oliver. Oliver see me with a big black eye and bruises I start to cry, he hugs me and I hug him back crying it always makes me upset when this happens to her, because I can't be there to protect her. We are walking towards the door to Oliver's house "what about your mum ?" "she won't mind, she's not here" we walking, "Megan !" We both look over and see Lucy "hello Lucy", and went to bed. We were in Olivers bed looking at each other. Oliver wriggle over and wraps his arms around me and kisses my head, rests his head on the top of mine. and we full asleep like that. I set down at the kitchen table and see Lucy sitting at the kitchen table. "hello Lucy" "hello""What happened to you eye ?" "uuuummm I hurt myself with a door" "did your mum hurt you again" " yeah" I said softly. and Oliver and I went to school.

Chapter 6 Everything Will Be Alright

Out of flashback

I'm cooking dinner.

Oliver Pov cooking dinner.

Megan Pov I go into the lounge room and I see my brother lying on the ground I was worried, I call Oliver to come over to see what was wrong with him we are both looking down at him "he's drunk" I roll my eyes and kick him and we both walk away. We are sitting outside on the wall that's outside my house, "where is your mum ?" "she's at the pub, It's how she copes" he looks at me "how is your arm ?" I lift up my sleeve and show him the big bruise on my arm. "everything will be alright one day" He puts his hand on my head leaning my head closer to him kisses the top my head.

Chapter 4 Being Together

We went to the park and and we were sitting on the ledge of a bridge we were hanging out and talking enjoying each other's company it was quiet for a few moments Oliver looks at me "Meg, is that where you were, with your dad" "Yeah," I look at Oliver "What about your mum ?" "She's hardly there half the time".

Flashback Last night

We were in Olivers room and we built a pillow fort we were lying in the pillow fort "what do we do now ?" Oliver looks at me with a cheeky grin and hit me with a pillow I hit him back with a pillow and we started having a pillow fight. The pillow fort falls down we are both breathing heavily, Oliver on top of me we were both looking into each others eyes Oliver leans down and kisses me.
