Okay, so like I'm just in my thoughts about single dad Troy au, and that they probably had a very very employed babysitter in Toronto, who knew the kids really well, and adored them. Troy paid her a tonne, and tipped her to all hell as well.
Anyways, so when they move to Ottawa, Troy, sweetheart my love continues to pay her for like three months, insists on it, because it's not her fault that they suddenly moved, and he doesn't want her in a hard spot suddenly not having the expected money.
Now, when they arrive in Ottawa, Troy is going to be probably very panicked and rushed trying to find a babysitter on short notice in a new city, and maybe he's struggling for a few weeks, because Liz is being a brat (She's not exactly had an ideal upbringing with Troy's parents, and even with him it's very unstable, she hates that they've moved.) and so Troy is hiring new babysitters every other day, trying to find one that works for them.
And while all this is happening, all of Ottawa doesn't really like him, thinking he's another Dallas Kent.
