The Death of ‘Junior’ Lesandro Guzman-Feliz

On June 20, 2018, Lesandro Guzman-Feliz (middle photo) also known as Junior, was 15 years old when he was brutally attacked and murdered by 5 members of a Dominican street gang named “Trinitarios” in Bronx, NY on the corner of E 183rd street and Bathgate Avenue at a local convenient store. 

 Diego Suero (first photo), leader of the Bronx Trinitarios had developed a code to track down members of the Brooklyn based Trinitarios gang called “Sunset”. The Bronx based Triniatrio gang wanted revenge after a member from their gang was shot in the face from one of the Sunset members who happened to look like Junior. Suero then ordered the members of his gang to go on a hunt for the members starting at E 183rd and Adams Place. An area that was common for the the rivals to hangout at. On that fateful night, Junior told his mother that he was going to meet up with a friend to lend them $5. That would be the last time she had ever seen him. Junior began his route and on the way, he stopped at a friend’s house quickly and then resumed his journey. Four vehicles filled with gang members rolled around the block and spotted Junior. They shouted a Trinitarios call “Po po!”. Junior looked up and the members got out of their vehicles and pursued to confront the frightened young teenager. The gang had designed a code, “1090″ to identify rival members. When they questioned him with the test, Junior told them that he wasn’t apart of any gangs. They continued to ask him questions and one of them acted as if they were going to hit him. That is when Junior fled the scene. The members then chased him and blocked him with their vehicles. Junior then attempted to hide in the bodega, the Cruz and Chiky grocery store. The members came rushing through the store where they again spotted Junior. The store owner told them to take the “fight” else where and unlocked the door where Junior was hiding. They then dragged Junior out of the store. Equipped with a machete and another large knife, they  began beating and stabbing Junior in the neck, all recorded on surveillance and from cell phone footage. Junior screamed throughout the entire ordeal and tried to make his way too the nearest hospital, but was only able to come to a stop with just a few feet ahead of him. Junior was laid to rest a week later. 

There was a total of 14 members of the Trinitarios gang that was involved in Junior’s murder, but 6 were charged with first degree murder, second degree conspiracy, first degree gang assault and related offenses for life.
