Valentine’s Day - {Zinnia} @truedrxconid

Courtney was rather nervous about having a Valentine. She hadn’t even dated since college, let alone had a Valentine.  What if Zinnia hated what Courtney had gotten her?  She hoped not. Zinnia was very... open about what she did and did not like.  The bouquet of red zinnias from Pretty Petal smelled very pleasant to Courtney. Was it too obvious to get her friend the flowers she was named after?  Well it was too late for that. If it was wrong for the admin to have gotten her the bouquet, she hoped the Moon Stone pendant necklace in its black velvet box would make up for it. 

All dressed up to meet Zinnia, Courtney waited at cafe in Lavaridge Town. She thought a light lunch, and then some time at the onsen would be relaxing and perhaps even romantic.  Face as stoic as ever, it was Courtney’s fidgeting that have away her nerves. Constantly checking her Nav. Smoothing her skirt. Checking her nails.  She was a wreck.

“No… I’ll never be strong enough. Not as strong as she was. And in the end, that’s all that matters…” She curled up tighter into her ball, constricting at the touch of the wind.

“Zinnia, the entire world is at risk. You need to stop comparing yourself to her, because you aren’t her. You’re your own person, and you need to start acting like it.”

“Aster, sweetie, is that you!?” she cried out from behind the curtain. Looks like her back was turned to the door; she was expecting Aster to have finagled her way inside. Still, it seemed like she wanted a couple more seconds of shampooing her hair before she’d turn around and check.

It wasn’t Aster.

“...oh. H-hello, Zinnia...” Did she forget to lock the door or something? “I... didn’t know you were in here... do you want me to leave?”

I got a Zinna in one arm, and a Zinnia in the other. Valentine’s day is in the bag.

Believe it or not, Courtney has never played a video game. She would probably get the hang of it eventually, though. 

🎁 — giving presents to others

She never has much opportunity for gift-giving, but she tries to be as thoughtful about it as possible. If she likes someone enough to consider giving them a gift, then it’s likely she’s analyzed all of said persons hobbies, interests, needs, etc. Depending on the person, she’ll either aim for a sentimental gift or a practical gift. 

🎵 — singing

She can carry a tune, and will sometimes give someone a shock with switching from her monotone to a suddenly sing-songy speaking voice. 

💄 — makeup

She’s no makeup artist. She can manage eyeliner, mascara, and lip gloss. Nothing too excessive.

🍺 — alcohol tolerance

Courtney is 5 feet and 100 pounds soaking wet. Please don’t give her more than three drinks she’ll be wasted.

💅 to do my muse’s nails.

This was rather relaxing-- Courtney had not realised how she had neglected her nails until Zinnia had scraped all of that dead skin from her cuticles. They were now soft and supple. As she watched Zinnia paint the pale lavender on her nails, Courtney smiled. It was nice to do entertaining yet idle things. “Thank you.... thank you for this. I am having fun, Zinnia.”
