Dusty cobwebs sway in the darkness as the outside breeze enters this long forgotten tomb for the first time in years! Down the damaged steps our caped crusader slowly descends... With a stake in one hand and a candelabra in the other will he truly be able to take down the immortal vampire? Or will the batman be DOWN FOR THE COUNT!? This retro piece was born from my love both of older comics in general but specifically from my love of golden age batman stories (as you can see by the gloves which are reminiscent of Batman's second appearance). Now why vampires you may ask? Well, through Batman's long career he has quarreled with vampires on more than one occasion and one significant detail is that batman consistently breaks his "no kill" rule when dealing with vampires. Batman seems to just really f_ng hate vampires for some reason (also I just love the gothic horror aspects present in batman so I couldn't resist). I wanted this to look authentically retro, like it was some lost/unpublished Batman comic found in the vaults of DC and thanks to the wonderful folks at True Grit Texture Supply I was able to achieve that effect quite well (at least in my opinion).
