"Why don't you tell Jake about the time we won Nationals."
(A part of me wonders if Santana has ever told Jake about this time herself. Perhaps Mike has, but from what I've gathered from the story, Santana avoids the very mention of WMHS [and Lima] like the plague.)
there's no real spoilers in this one, so i'll answer it :)
absolutely not. no way, no how. i've tried to drop it in along the way just how thoroughly she's removed lima from her memory, things like she's not been on facebook since she found out she was pregnant, and the twisted imaginary world where quinn and sugar are running the lima elementary PTA, but nothing could be closer to the truth than in part 1 where she describes it all as being locked in a box clearly marked "do not touch" but less clearly marked "high school". it's not exactly high school that's locked away in there, but when you put that one person, and that one hurt, away with everything else it touched, it might as well be all of high school.
a huge part of the reason santana's been able to get this far along in her life without ever really dealing with everything - and to be honest but without spoiling, it's not a huge massive trauma but in the very near aftermath she was screwed up enough to sleep with mike and get kicked out of college, so there were some pretty big consequences to a period of time rolls one mess in with another - sorry what was i saying? oh yes, she's been able to get away with just being an emu about it because mike doesn't press, and goes along with her need to just not ever acknowledge that once upon a time they lived in a town called lima. so i don't think he would ever have mentioned it to jake, but i also think the kid's five and so it's not really an active omission.
this is far and away the biggest step santana's actually taken in about six years up to that point. it's why she hides behind jake's presence afterwards, because it's not the carefully controlled environment of her kitchen with mike, it's rachel who doesn't know all her landmines and who, evidence to the contrary over the last few months if santana had bothered to pay attention, doesn't shut up and will probably just start dragging up all kinds of shit she's still very much not ready to think about. like she says in the last part, she has about six years of shit to unravel from around herself, so it's going to take a little bit carefully picking at threads and the occasional ripping of seams.
