This is a help to explain my version of Cardverse for a story I want to devellop called "Ace Awakening"! Cardverse is an Axis Powers Hetalia AU by the way! Have to say I've quite a hard time to do a clean geometric figure, so I didn't put any difference between a Queen mark and a King mark, but I think I may add a little one to differenciate them. (Like the center color being different!) I didn't also though about the Jacks, but they have a mark in between the 2 you see here. (They have the same exterior form as the royalty, but not the central details!) ****** In my version of Cardverse exists 4 kingdoms : - Spades, The kingdom of Time - Diamounds, The kingdom of Nature - Hearts, The kingdom of Mind - Clubs, The kingdom of Creation Each individual born here possess a mark on his body at a random place, showing him his true kingdom. It's like an ID, and generally the place you are born correspond to your mark, but not always! Filiation rules : - 2 parents having the same mark will pass it to their children. - If 2 parents doesn't have the same mark, their children will have 50% to be one or the other. (It's the case for Feliciano and Romano, the first being a heart and the other a diamound. However, Feliciano is a "special" heart since he is also a Jack.) - The children can be raised in a different kingdom than the one they are attached to, but once they are adult, they HAVE to go live and serve their kingdom, and it can bring to violent separations between families when you are in very conservative regions! (Mixed-marks couples aren't well seen in these regions you've guessed!) The borders of the kingdoms are more enclined to this kind of unions and to reunite family with mixed birthmarks. Fortunately, it is more and more the second case that is extending, as Hearts have a lot of workers that would settle with a local Spades or Clubs husbands/wives. - If you're a married couple of 2 different suits, you are actually allowed to livenear the border or to the kingdom of your choice, but you will have to go back time to time to your homeland to furfill your obligations; and if you refuse, be punished and taken back. This depends of the politic of the Kingdoms : Diamound is the less conservative about this rule; and Clubs the most (because of economic reasons mostly, they need human power a lot!) , with Spades being second (They are prideful for being intellectually and magicaly "superior" to the others, alongside having a highter rate of magic users). Hearts was at some point but is greatly letting this lose as they have a lot of workers travelling to find work, especially in Clubs as it is a manufacturing kingdom. Royalty rules : - The mark for royalties and Jacks are different from the normal population and so a newborn will be immediately recognised as "probable" royalties! Jack's marks are in-between the normal and the royalties mark. - If a King or a Queen haven't been decided, then several babies will be born with the Royal mark. They are called " Pretenders" and prepared to be chosen by the heir/heiress (if there is one already decided). Pretenders can be girls or boys without distinction of sex (Queens have a special condition given to make them able to give heirs even if male), but also social background. Queen pretenders have also a lot more magic than normal children and King pretenders are known to be really skilled in battles. There is about 12 to 20 pretenders at a time; probably to prevent the one that are at risk to....die before even reaching the right age! Once the actual Queen/King have been chosen, the others will lose their mark, but are still generally a little favorized compared to normal people( like they keep their magic and talents if they keep practicing!) - The filiation rules doesn't apply for Royalty (even if it can lead to discrimination). So, It is not compulsory that the royal mark appears in the good Kingdom. (For example : Kiku the actual Queen of Hearts was born from 2 Spades parents in Spades. But because he was a pretender; he had to go live in Heart alone, his parent would not have the right to! - The children of the actual King and Queen have generally all a Royalty mark, but there is exception. (like only one of them having it, or one among tree who doesn't have it....the kind of things that can create drama and even abandons..) Only one of them can be the Queen or the Kings though, and once it is decided who will take the throne, the marks of the others will fade and become ordinary ones. It can sometimes reappear, notably if the principal heir/heiress were to die but there is no certitude, so the next heir could be a peasant and you wouldn't know! ****** Then I will have to decide where are every royalties birthmark for my story, it will be fun haha! XD If you have any suggestions about the matter you can tell me (although i've already decided for Arthur).
