Natalie Portman is hella fine. hm, well I once read this book that described death as going to this other place where you age back to a baby where you are then re-born, so idk I kinda like the idea of that??

My Day in Hay

Went to Hay-on-Wye today to see my favourite author, Patrick Ness, along with my two friends whom I had recently introduced to his emotional turmoil, and it was FAB! His talk was brilliant, and he read 3 whole chapters of 'More Than This', his new novel out in September (can't divulge much, but I'm already hooked :)). The Q&A was very interesting, and I called him out on the idea of whitewashing, seeing as Tumblr seems so hooked upon it - he gave a very diplomatic answer, saying that he wrote the first book with as little physical description as possible so that the reader could project their own ideas onto the characters, but later unfortunately realised that it is in fact the author whom they project, so consequently SPECIFICALLY made Corinne and Bradley black to encourage racial diversity :) whether or not this is reflected in the casting, he doesn't know, but said that the same faff happened with the hunger games, and that still made $600 million - and then ’maybe Tumblr doesn't have as much power as we think.' Then I got my books signed and just the whole thing was great. He was very down to earth and charming and I really really really enjoyed it :)
