This girl is going places... I made the most badass, radical, empowering, terrifying decision yesterday. I discharged myself from a hospital, completely against medical advice, when morphine wasn't helping stop the pain I was in. I left, got straight into a taxi and headed to St Thomas Hospital. I had surgery here, and I'm being treated here for several other serious chronic conditions. The notes are here, easily accessible to all those in this trust. So I left and took a leap of faith. This is where I am now. More comfortable, in a hospital bed, safe and being treated with more respect for my basic knowledge of medicine and expert knowledge of my own body than ever before.
