there's a head, an ahoge, just waiting here to be patted lovingly. and so it is patted. in a loving way. lovingly. by a detective girl. a loving headpat for a cutie boy who deserves it.

– His body froze for a moment or two as she patted his head. Receiving some sort of affection from the person he looks up to is rather…Nice actually. He almost nuzzled against her hand, but he tried to control himself. He didn’t even realize he was blushing lightly from the kind act. 

 Seeing Kirigiri doing things like this to him felt like an achievement of some sort, she doesn’t seem to be the type to do this with anyone, and from what he can tell she’s done this kind of gestures to him. It felt like an honor. Honestly, his ahoge wagged a bit the more she patted his head, it felt so lovingly.

Shuichi gave an immediate response as he looked away, avoiding any sort of contact. The detective could feel his cheeks flushed to a shade of red. He didn’t mean to sound defensive suddenly, or even respond that way. It came out as a surprise, actually. Did they really mean it? Either way, the timid boy wasn’t so used to compliments, especially like that as one could already witness from his response.

Well, this definitely answered their question on how Shuichi would feel if they were to call him cute.

…But what was with that nickname…? –

Honestly, it was amusing to hear that from someone like Kirigiri. It wasn’t exactly something he would think he would hear from her. She’s always seemed so serious and mostly reserved, yet she managed to surprise him a bit by saying something like that. 

   ” A-Are you already feeling st-stressed out with the upcoming e-exam…? “
