lips  pushed  together  ,  nodding  her  head  along  as  she  read  each  line  of  lois’  article  ,  occasionally  a  small  smirk  would  appear  as  she  read  something  that  clearly  brought  joy  to  her  ,  lois  certainly  had  a  way  with  words  and  diana  could  see  her  passion  for  what  she  does  .  once  finishing  the  article  ,  diana  lifted  her  head  ,  her  face  lit  up  with  the  joy  of  what  she  had  read  and  a  large  grin  had  grown  ,  handing  the  piece  back  over  to  the  other  female  .

 “I got in.”

Clark smiled triumphantly as he held up the acceptance letter from Princeton. It had been entirely unexpected—up until yesterday he had been planning on taking the football scholarship to Metropolis University, which, as he teased Lois, meant that he would have been seeing her around campus. It was funny, all he had wanted was to play football, and this year he had finally been able to secure a spot on the Smallville High team. Playing for Metropolis University could give him the chance to make a career out of it—but he knew that he couldn’t. It wouldn’t be fair, and it wouldn’t be as fulfilling, given that the only thing he had to try to do was not hurt the other guys on the field.

Going across the country for college would give him the chance to put the more painful parts of his past behind him—particularly his on again off again relationship with Lana. It killed him to admit it, but if he couldn’t tell her everything, then there could be no future for them.

“I didn’t think I had half a chance after that interview.” he commented with a wince, remembering how he had embarrassed himself at Chloe’s party at the barn. It hadn’t been his fault—apparently magic was one of the few things that could overpower him besides kryptonite. He liked to think that he had gotten in on his own merits, but he wouldn’t be surprised if Lex had pulled a few strings. “I think I should go. I mean, I can’t stay in Kansas forever.”
